Corey Lewandowski fired a Coast Guard pilot for leaving Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s blanket on a plane — but was forced to rehire them upon realizing there was nobody else to fly the party home, according to a stunning new report.

Lewandowski, an unpaid special government employee who unofficially acts as chief of staff for Noem — with whom he’s had a years-long affair — has overseen a reign of terror over department workers since President Trump took office last year.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Noem had to switch planes during an official trip due to a maintenance issue, but her blanket was not moved to the replacement aircraft.

A spokesperson for DHS did not deny the story to the Journal, but said Noem has “made personnel decisions to deliver excellence.”

As a special government employee, Lewandowski technically is capped at working 130 days per year, but has managed to creatively stretch that timeframe by avoiding being logged arriving at headquarters — including by hitching rides in Noem’s motorcade, for which campus gates open without badge checks.

While the Journal reported that Lewandowski “spends time at the house,” multiple sources inside and close to the administration tell The Post it’s understood that Lewandowski lives with Noem — “if living means spending nights regularly,” as one source put it.

Lewandowski apparently is not shy about referring to Noem in intimate terms, as another source recalled him speaking last year about the need to find apparel for the secretary that would flatter a woman with, in Lewandowski’s words, “big tits.”

The pilot's job is to fly the plane and land the plane safely.  They are highly trained professionals, not "hired help" for b!tches (Lewandowski).  It was her blanket, it's was her responsibility, not the pilot's repsonsibility.  If priveleged bastards want to be waited on hand and foot, they should shell out some of their own money to hire a personal assistant that they can abuse at will.  Working folk are in no mood to take unwarranted $h!t on the job from @$$h0le$.

If I was the pilot, I would not have came back after getting fired, and let them sit there on the tarmac stranded.  If he is active duty Coast Guard, then how could Lewandowski, who has no official status other than "special assistant" or whatever have the legal authority to "fire" him?  I'm just sick of hearing about this guy.  He's nothing but poison for Trump.

The new details about the pilot incident suggest Lewandowski may have violated the safety guidelines set out by the U.S. Coast Guard, which operated the plane.

Lewandowski entered the cockpit before the plane had reached 10,000 feet (3,048 meters) and while the seatbelt sign remained on, one of the people said.

Federal Aviation Administration rules, several of which were tightened after 9/11, strictly limit cockpit access and prohibit interfering with aircraft crew duties. An FAA regulation also prohibits airline pilots and staff from engaging in non-essential activities or conversations in the cockpit while operating under 10,000 feet, and civil aircraft operators that violate that rule could face thousands of dollars in fines while pilots could face fines or termination.

During the flight last spring, which was on a Gulfstream jet, the pilots in the cockpit asked Lewandowski to return to the cabin until they had reached cruising altitude, one of the people familiar with the incident said.

When the pilot walked back into the cabin later in the flight, the two sources said, Lewandowski asked who should be fired because Noem's blanket had been left behind when they switched planes for technical reasons before take-off.

The pilot, an accomplished flyer with a long record of service, took responsibility for any possible mistake and Lewandowski fired him on the spot, the sources said, confirming the Wall Street Journal report.

However, once Noem and Lewandowski reached their destination, Coast Guard leadership realized the pilot would be needed to fly them back to the Washington region and he was reinstated by the agency, the sources said. DHS and the Coast Guard declined to comment on the pilot's firing and reinstatement. Reuters was unable to independently confirm the reason for the reinstatement.
