Is nuking the filibuster the only way forward on this??
Live in  harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

I don't think so. Republicans need to stand firm and be prepared to explain why it is both perfectly reasonable and necessary for our democratic electoral process to demand an ID from voters.

"Democracy" in our Republic means "one person, one vote".  What's the problem with that, Chuck? Oh yeah, you want to be able to continue your longstanding practice of ballot stuffing and harvesting, registering the deceased, and collecting ballots from people who list vacant lots as their home addresses.

The problem with killing the filibuster is that unlike Republicans, Democrats would not be restrained in their efforts to socialize America.
"If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people."    -Calvin Coolidge

He's 75 years old and has been in the Senate since 1999 - there's something to be said for term limits.  He has been a nightmare for this country.

As for the GOP standing firm; there aren't too many GOP conservatives left to hold the line.

I respectfully disagree with you.

We have term limits, they are called elections. Because the citizens are too stupid to understand that they are electing the wrong people time after time, there should not be a law to change/correct that. We should be teaching these voters that they are wrong, to the point that they can see and understand what they are doing is incorrect. Remember Bud Light, Target, Cracker Barrel, NFL etc. The right cannot stay together on any point. That is the problem! The Left knows that if they stay firm the Right will cave after awhile.

I agree that Schumer has been a disaster, but more laws piled on are not the right correction. We have too many laws on the books now, we don't need more laws.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

PLease shut it down again, for the 3rd or is it 4th time, because that has worked out so well for you every other time.

Shut downs are not helping Democrats.

ICE was very efficient with the last one.

Go ahead and shut it down.
