"Please keep praying without ceasing," she said. "We still believe. We still believe in a miracle. We still believe that she can come home, hope against hope, as my sister says. We are blowing on the embers of hope."

"We also know that she may be lost," she added. "She may already be gone."

The Guthrie family plans to donate $500,000 to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. "We know there are millions of families that have suffered with this kind of uncertainty," Savannah Guthrie said.

I spoke to CeCe Moore from Parabon Nanolabs about this possibility yesterday. She’s a leading genealogist. The same sample COULD potentially still be useful for IGG — or even a direct comparison if Arizona has its own criminal DNA database or if a suspect is identified by other means.

Arizona DOES have a state database with DNA from convicted felons.

OK, it's Nancy Grace reporting on this, so some skepticism might be warranted.  :pondering:

If this story is true... why are we only hearing about it now? The news media have blanketed this story with a blizzard of unimportant details, right down to the number of cacti and the shape of the blood droplets outside her front door.
 
Also, the local authorities must have known about the 911 call (assuming it's real), otherwise their incompetence is of a level that can scarcely be charted.

Not that I entirely doubt that possibility.

Meanwhile, time goes on and this entire affair continues to be a dry and dusty desert of facts or motives.

FBI tells me it has moved some of its Guthrie operation up to the Phoenix office but says its footprint on the ground in Tucson remains the same.    FBI says "intel" is operating in PHX and "boots on the ground" in Tucson.

Nanos: 911 call not related to Guthrie disappearance

Per News 4 Tucson - KVOA: Reports have surfaced about a 911 call on the night of Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.

However, Sheriff Chris Nanos told News 4 Tucson that the lead was investigated and determined to be unrelated to the Guthrie case.

KVOA did not appear to ask any follow-up questions...such as that one. "Does this happen all the time?" Or: "You say the incident was 'unrelated'. What was it all about, then?" Or: "How exactly did you determine the 911 incident was not related to the Guthrie disappearance? Did your department investigate it? Did they identify the vehicle and parties involved? If not, how else would you know that there was no relation to the Guthrie matter?"

EXCLUSIVE: TUCSON, Ariz. — A resident in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood has a street-facing Ring camera that caught 12 cars passing by on the morning of Nancy Guthrie’s suspected abduction.

The recordings took place between midnight and 6 a.m. on Feb. 1, and some of the activity occurred near the 2:30 a.m. mark, which is around the time authorities said the 84-year-old Guthrie's pacemaker device last synced with her iPhone.

The homeowners, Elias and Danielle Stratigouleas, told Fox News Digital that police had not canvassed their neighborhood in the 25 days since Guthrie is believed to have been taken from her bed in a home invasion kidnapping. The FBI and Pima County Sheriff's Department have been alerted to the video. It was not immediately clear whether the video is of any use to the investigation or whether the vehicle had ever been on Guthrie's street.
