Person detained for questioning in connection with Nancy Guthrie abduction: Official

Earlier Tuesday, the FBI released images of a masked figure.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department, with assistance from the FBI, has detained an individual for questioning in connection with the abduction of Nancy Guthrie, a law enforcement official briefed on the investigation told ABC News.

The individual was detained in a location south of Tucson, the source said, and law enforcement is preparing to search a location associated with the individual.

The development followed the first images released of a masked man approaching Nancy Guthrie’s front door and as investigators continued to search in her neighborhood.

This is a breaking news story. Check back later for updates.

Two sources tell Fox News Digital that a person is detained for questioning in connection to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.

The subject was detained after a traffic stop south of Tucson, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

Nancy Guthrie is missing.

Shes been missing for 11 days.

Major broadcast networks (NBC, ABC, and CBS) interrupted regular programming and Olympic coverage to report developments...

BUT THERE ARE NO DEVELOPMENTS.

NBC ran a 10-minute special report telling us THEY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING.

Cable news programs like CNN and Fox News have devoted ENTIRE SEGMENTS OR HOURS to updates on the case...

BUT THERE ARE NO UPDATES.

Conservative estimate per day of national + cable exposure during peak coverage: 2 to 4 total hours across all networks combined.

If coverage has run roughly 10 days at these elevated levels, that would likely place aggregate televised discussion somewhere in the range of:

20 to 40+ TOTAL BROADCAST HOURS NATIONWIDE.

And still: WE KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

This is your daily necessary reminder that about 600,000 people are reported missing in the United States each year.

That's roughly about 1,600 people reported missing per day in the U.S.

And if THIS is the level of incompetence the FBI is working at for JUST ONE WOMAN...

...I feel truly sorry for the other 1,599 families getting zero attention, zero resources, zero special reports - because they don't know the right people.

Third letter sent to TMZ founder Harvey Levin claims to know who Nancy Guthrie kidnapper is

TMZ host Harvey Levin revealed on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom” that his outlet received a third alleged letter in relation to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.

“An hour and a half ago, we got, kind of a bizarre letter, an email from somebody who says they know who the kidnapper is and that they have tried reaching Savannah's sister Annie and Savannah's brother, to no avail. And they said they want one Bitcoin sent to a Bitcoin address that we have confirmed is active. It's a real Bitcoin address, and as they put it, time is more than relevant. So we have no idea whether this is real or not. But they are making a demand.”

Levin added the note included a name and email address.
