Authorities in Arizona are searching for the mother of ‘Today’ show anchor Savannah Guthrie after the 84-year-old was reported missing near Tucson

Authorities in Arizona confirmed late Sunday that they are searching for the mother of NBC "Today" co-host Savannah Guthrie.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen Saturday evening at her residence near East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue, north of Tucson, around 9:30 p.m., according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

A relative of Guthrie’s contacted authorities around noon Sunday to report her missing, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said.

"We’re pretty much just throwing everything at this that we can. Guthrie is 84 years old and is not of good physical health, and so naturally that’s a great concern," Nanos told reporters later Sunday, adding that the scene at the house raised "some concerns for us as well."



"This is very concerning to us. We don’t typically get the sheriff out at a scene like this. But it’s very concerning what we’re learning from the house," Nanos said. "And so we’ll just continue. The detective’s homicide team is out right now looking at the scene as well."

I hope Mrs. Guthrie returns home safe and sound.

That said I also hope that the criminals are illegal aliens so NBC and the media have to choke on the fact that they made this crime possible by agitating against ICE.

“Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie asked for prayers on Monday after blood was found in her missing mother’s home.

Her mother, Nancy, was reported missing by a friend early Sunday morning after she didn’t appear at church, according to People magazine.

The friend then called one of Nancy’s other children (one of Guthrie’s siblings), and they went to her home together, only to find all of her belongings still there — wallet, phone, car — but she herself was missing.

Guthrie was subsequently informed by phone that her mother was missing.

It was “the worst phone call of her life,” an NBC producer who knows her personally told CNN.

Guthrie, who was reportedly supposed to fly to Italy on Monday for NBC’s coverage of the Winter Olympics, instead traveled to Tucson, where her mother lives.

Later Monday, law enforcement sources confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that blood was found in Nancy’s home, along with signs of forced entry.

How incredibly sad.  By the blood found she likely put up a fight.  If they had killed her why in the world would they remove her from the home?  There are miles and miles of empty desert surrounding Tucson, where the famous Gem and Mineral Show is currently ongoing. There are thousands of visitors/dealers from all around the world.

1. Mrs. Guthrie was removed from the property.
2. No signs of forced entry.
3. It wasn't a robbery or burglary.
4. There has not been a ransom demand.

At this point I guarantee the investigation is looking at the immediate family as prime suspects.

I stand corrected on that point. I still maintain that law enforcement is digging into the family. Given the circumstance they'd be irresponsible if they didn't.

Entertainment news outlet TMZ claimed it received what appears to be a “ransom note” for the return of “Today” host Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy.

Guthrie is believed to have been kidnapped from her Tucson, Arizona home early on Sunday morning in a harrowing case that has gripped the nation.

TMZ reported the note arrived Tuesday morning and demands a specific, substantial amount of Bitcoin for Nancy’s return.

The outlet said the sum runs into the millions and directs payment to a specific Bitcoin address, and said it verified the Bitcoin address is real.

According to the outlet, the message includes a deadline and carries an implied threat if the demands are not met.

During a live stream, TMZ’s Harvey Levin and Charles Latibeaudiere said an item referenced in the note conflicted with what had been previously discussed on air. The note, they said, claims Nancy was not wearing that item.

The alleged ransom message also references another item the sender claims was damaged inside Nancy’s Tucson-area home.
TMZ said it forwarded the alleged ransom demand to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

Nancy was reported missing on Sunday. Authorities have labeled the case an abduction, and homicide detectives are now leading the investigation.

Entertainment news outlet TMZ claimed it received what appears to be a “ransom note” for the return of “Today” host Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy.

Guthrie is believed to have been kidnapped from her Tucson, Arizona home early on Sunday morning in a harrowing case that has gripped the nation.

TMZ reported the note arrived Tuesday morning and demands a specific, substantial amount of Bitcoin for Nancy’s return.

The outlet said the sum runs into the millions and directs payment to a specific Bitcoin address, and said it verified the Bitcoin address is real.

According to the outlet, the message includes a deadline and carries an implied threat if the demands are not met.

During a live stream, TMZ’s Harvey Levin and Charles Latibeaudiere said an item referenced in the note conflicted with what had been previously discussed on air. The note, they said, claims Nancy was not wearing that item.

The alleged ransom message also references another item the sender claims was damaged inside Nancy’s Tucson-area home.
TMZ said it forwarded the alleged ransom demand to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

Nancy was reported missing on Sunday. Authorities have labeled the case an abduction, and homicide detectives are now leading the investigation.

Abducted Nancy Guthrie’s pacemaker stopped syncing with her Apple Watch in the early hours of Sunday morning, law enforcement sources said, offering a chilling new clue in the case.

Police sources told Fox News that the 84-year-old’s heart device stopped sending data to the watch around 2 a.m. Sunday.

Investigators said Guthrie’s Apple Watch was left inside her home, suggesting the devices stopped “syncing” once the pacemaker was taken out of Bluetooth range. Apple Watches can connect with health devices, including pacemakers, allowing users to monitor vital signs through Bluetooth technology.

Pacemakers are surgically implanted devices used to treat irregular heart rhythms by delivering small electrical signals to the heart.

The Apple Watch data provides a possible timeline for the kidnapping and adds a disturbing new dimension to the Daily Mail’s report that Guthrie was dragged from her bed in the middle of the night.

Authorities have said Guthrie, whose daughter is “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen at her home around 9:45 p.m. Saturday.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department in Tuscon, Arizona, confirmed it is "aware" of reports of a possible ransom note in relation to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, mother of NBC "Today" co-host Savannah Guthrie.

"We are aware of reports circulating about possible ransom note(s) regarding the investigation into Nancy Guthrie," the officials wrote in a statement Tuesday afternoon.

The sheriff's office added it is taking all tips and leads "very seriously."

Actually, it feels like a sophisticated abduction. If they verified something damaged in the home, it would be legit.  Who knows?  I pray for her safety for sure.

Ransom note with all this attention??  I'm not quite so sure that it's legit -- yes I agree, someone's just trying to cash in.

She hasn't been seen since she had dinner with her other daughter.  There were signs of forced entry, so she was abducted afterwards, OR with forced entry it could be someone came into the home before she left and hid waiting for her return, or waited outside for her to return.  Either way, IMO it's someone that knew the family closely and new their routine and schedule?

The blood is obviously not a good sign.  Prayers.

They are probably looking at the family/friends of the caregivers, landscapers etc.  That would be my guess.
