What the Polls Reveal -– and the Media Conceal

Polling tells a different story from common media coverage.

If one relied solely on corporate media coverage, one might conclude that President Trump’s immigration enforcement efforts are wildly unpopular, resisted by an outraged public, and politically suicidal for Republicans.

Night after night, TV viewers see images of angry protesters, breathless commentary about “authoritarian crackdowns,” the familiar ‘Trump is Hitler/Nazi/fascist’ trope, and sympathetic portrayals of activists blocking Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The media narrative is clear: Americans are revolting against deportations.

But polling tells a very different story.

A recent Rasmussen Reports survey shows that nearly two-thirds of Americans support President Trump’s efforts to locate and deport illegal immigrants. That includes a majority of independents, more than a third of Democrats, and almost two-thirds of Hispanic respondents

Not if people just take a moment to ask themselves why someone carrying a firearm would insert themselves into a law enforcement operation and scuffle with police.

Good shoot or an erroneous one, whatever that may be determined, the fact remains that an armed civilian was somewhere they should not have been, interfering with law enforcement.

For a claimed CCW holder, that lack of situational awareness, considering the open hostility toward ICE, the calls for the Left to arm to intervene in law enforcement operations, and even the lack of ID or Permit on the deceased (which means, incidentally, that he was not legally carrying, as both are required to be in his possession) indicate that the deceased used extremely poor judgement just being in the middle of things. If something untoward is going on, there are plenty of folks around to document that and take the matter up in very sympathetic courts.

Diving in was neither necessary, nor, frankly, advisable. In this instance, it proved fatal.

No CCW holder in their right mind would have jumped into that situation.

While the deceased's motives remain unclear, one fact of life remains: Bad decisions can get you killed.

The guy showed up to harass ICE agents while packing.  If you interfere / confront a law enforcement officer while armed, they must presume you are an iminent threat until proven otherwise.

Dem mobs are baiting ICE agents to capture propaganda sound bites on their phones.

At what point do those on the right throw in the towel and say, "I've had enough"?

I was for wetting them down with water cannons while it was in the single digits out there. I don't care if they assault ICE in a Banzai charge, screw the optics, they are paid or organized and given orders by people who are. It isn't the street pawns I want to see go down, but if they are stupid enough to get shot for going too far over the line, that's on them.

What it takes to stop this crap, because it's only gained momentum and nerve from Trayvon Martin on. How many of them will it take to get killed doing this crap before they back off and go home and get a real job?
