Getting Minneapolis and surrounding areas back under control is going to require:
- federal troops
- martial law
- military takeover of local (state?) government and police agencies
- martial courts (leftist civil courts removed from the equation)
- mass arrests
- tougher action against protests (leave that to you as to what it would entail).

First of all, thanks for posting.  I appreciate receiving viewpoints from those with differing experiences, who grew up wearing different glasses.  As for the 2nd Amendment, you are correct.  The purpose was to protect the citizens from obtrusive government.  Viewpoints on their usage differ among political lines.  Conservatives say 'self defense' because that's what they primarily use them for.  And leftists saying 'killing other humans' because that's what they use them for.

You bring up excellent points with the videos documenting this event.  I too am skeptical of what transpired.  Combining the video's I have seen, it is clear that the man in the beige coat did retrieve something out of the pile that resembled a pistol.  And it is clear that his hand drew clear of the pile before the first shot was heard.  But I am not at all convinced that the weapon visible in his hand was the same weapon being passed off as the deceased's weapon (w/added laser scope, etc.).

One thing is clear.  If the weapon in question had been fired, investgators would be able to confirm that.  And that goes for every weapon.  Furthermore, it should be easy to determine the total of how many shots were fired by government agents.  Let's gather that info first before drawing final conclusions.

These lunatics are escalating from protests to outright sabotage against law enforcement.

The Minnesota National Guard has been mobilized in response to escalating unrest in Minneapolis, which reignited on Saturday morning when an anti-ICE agitator was shot and killed after pulling a gun while scuffling with agents.

Walz confirmed the mobilization during a press conference a few hours after the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti, 37, in Minneapolis’ Whittier section. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed that Pretti was armed when he interfered with an immigration enforcement operation targeting an illegal alien wanted for violent assault.

Footage of the incident shows Pretti struggling with officers before a shot rang out, which appeared to have been fired by Pretti himself. Agents then returned fire, striking the anti-ICE agitator multiple times.

Emergency crews attempted to provide life-saving aid on the scene, but Pretti was pronounced dead not long after.

The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) identified the man fatally shot by a Border Patrol agent in Minneapolis on Saturday as one of its members, Alex Jeffrey Pretti.

Pretti, a 37-year-old Minneapolis resident and ICU nurse, was shot during an immigration enforcement operation early Saturday targeting Jose Huerta-Chuma, an illegal immigrant with a criminal history including domestic assault for intentional conflict bodily harm, disorderly conduct and driving without a valid license.

Homeland Security officials said Pretti approached Border Patrol agents while armed with a 9mm pistol and "violently resisted" when they attempted to disarm him.

Medics at the scene immediately delivered aid, but Pretti was pronounced dead at the scene.
