Sigh! Another day, another reason to shake your fist at some of the Republicans in the House

What is the point of Republicans if they allow this kind of overreach into the private lives of citizens?

Literally, it's time to find a very old used car with roll down windows and locks you have to push down in the door. No computerized car key. The kind of car where an actual key has to be put into the ignition.

Seems a bit intrusive into the life, liberty and pursuit of happiness of Americans, honestly.

The streets of America will resemble Havana, Cuba, as people drive cars older than their grandparents.  Looks like I'll be keeping my 2008 Honda Accord for a few more decades.

What the heck is going on in the Senate??  This isn't the first time recently that  a  large number of Republicans have sided with the DEMS.

I was prepared that the GOP would lose the House in  the mid terms  and I was thinking that the GOP would expand their number in the Senate. Well at this rate I don't see that happening.

If this continue, we can forget Vance or any other Republican becoming President.

Live in  harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

  • Ah, the air is so much fresher here...
This is where I go ballistic on Republican thinking. Of course they voted for it because it's a crime fighting tool to stop getaways and fugitives, and of course Republicans aren't soft on crime and we're not going to think beyond that.

They never think about the Rat perspective is that it's a valuable tool to the Marxist state because they can now shut all cars down based on no warrant or law, in the name of climate change of course.
The Republic is lost.

Why is Trump administration supporting Biden’s Orwellian mandatory kill switches on all new automobiles?
https://leohohmann.substack.com/p/why-is-trump-administration-supporting

Quote:
Yesterday, in an underreported story, 57 Republican members of Congress joined Democrats in voting down an amendment that would have repealed Joe Biden’s mandatory automobile kill switch.

“Kill switch” you ask? What is that all about?

In a back-page article Fox News casually reports:

“Fifty-seven Republicans voted with the vast majority of Democrats on Thursday to keep a Biden-era mandate enabling government remote control of vehicles, drawing backlash from conservatives like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.”

Government remote control of our vehicles? In America? This should be the biggest screaming headline of the day, and yet most Americans aren’t even aware of it.

Fox further reports:

“The group voted to defeat an amendment proposed by Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., that would have rolled back government requirements for the development of a ‘kill switch’ to disable the cars of impaired drivers.”

Massie’s amendment failed by a vote of 164-268.

I know I'll be able to get more life out of my 53 Willys, 56 Chevy 3/4 ton, 75 Vette, 98 Chev K1500, 98 Rav4, and my 2001 Honda CRV.

House BLOCKS Amendment that Would Have Cut Off Funding for DEI, Child Mutilation, and More Awful Items in Spending Package – These 76 GOPers Joined the Democrats
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/01/house-blocks-amendment-that-would-have-cut-funding/

Quote:
The GOP-controlled House of Representatives knifed the conservative movement and the Trump Administration in the back yesterday by rejecting a common-sense amendment that would have defunded an assortment of evils.

As The Daily Caller reported, Rep. Ralph Norman offered an amendment that would have axed all of the earmarks in the Labor-Health and Human Services (HHS) bill. These earmarks included funds for DEI activism, sex-change procedures for minors, and late-term abortions.

Unfortunately, the House voted 291 to 136 to reject the commonsense piece of legislation. Worse, a whopping 76 House GOPers joined the Democrats on the vote.

Rep. Keith Self (R-TX) was not pleased to see his party betray the American people and asked a great question in response.

“76 House Republicans joined every single House Democrat in support of earmarks for abortions, gender procedures on children, DEI activism, and partisan pet projects,” Self wrote on X.

With Republicans like these, who needs Democrats?

I am done with the GOP!!!!

Already on it. The current active fleet includes vehicles from 1987 to 2000. I have others which can be put into service for under a couple of grand each, ranging from 1941 to 1998. No kill switches, no nav screens, no cameras, etc. In some cases, no computers.

Proving again we can be more stupid than the Demmies.
