Dad jailed for 35 years for trying to kill his baby daughter

A dad who tried to kill his baby has been jailed for 35 years.
Rhydian Lynne Rhys Jamieson, 28, known as Rhys, left the child with "catastrophic injuries" following the attack in Cwm Cou, Ceredigion, in January 2025.
The baby, who cannot be named, was found lying face down under a duvet and alone.
Jamieson had left his baby after the attack, and texted the mother: "I'm sorry for what I've done," Swansea Crown Court heard. He also sent friends messages including: "I'm scared. I think I've killed someone," and: "I'm going to be on the news."
Jamieson, who had previously admitted the offence, was sentenced on Monday.
