Ilhan Omar tells Minneapolis protesters 'We are going to make sure that these people pay'

US Rep Ilhan Omar told protesters at a demonstration against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity that “we are going to make sure that these people pay for what they have done to us.” Brendan Gutenschwager captured footage of the Democrat’s speech on Saturday, January 10. “We are going to show all of them the door out and we are going to make sure that these people pay for what they have done to us,” she tells the crowd. “We are going to forge a different path forward,” she continues. “We are going to use every single lesson we are learning today to make sure no community gets terrorized like we are being terrorized by [US President Donald] Tump and his goonies ever again.” The protest was held as tensions continued after an ICE agent fatally shot a Minneapolis resident in her car.
