A 30-year-old Tampa resident is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to sending a barrage of violent, graphic threats to U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar, including a disturbing vow to consume her children "for protein."

Myles M. McQuade entered a guilty plea to one count of interstate transmission of a threat to injure, U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced. He now faces a statutory maximum of five years in federal prison.
 
While the Department of Justice’s initial announcement withheld the victim's name, a plea agreement filed Dec. 2 confirms the target was the Democratic congresswoman from Minnesota.
 
According to federal prosecutors, McQuade was visiting Orlando on Sept. 12, 2025, when he used the social media platform X to launch the attacks.
