PITTSBURGH —  The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette will be shutting down their operations with a final edition slated for May 3, 2026.

The announcement comes from Block Communications, the owner of the Post-Gazette. Block Communications said the closure comes after losing "more than $350 million in cash operating the Post-Gazette" over the past 20 years. In addition, they cited the recent decision that ruled in favor of the paper's union, restoring the terms of their 2014-17 contract. ...

The P-G was always the liberal rag in town. When I was a child, there was another newspaper, the Pittsburgh Press. But it died in 1992.
