Florida GOP Chair Evan Power touts voter gains, eyes 2026 expansionsTALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Evan Power, Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, highlighted the state’s growing GOP voter advantage and outlined ambitious plans for 2026 elections, emphasizing the need for sustained conservative momentum.
In an interview Wednesday on Florida’s Voice Radio, Power celebrated Florida’s Republican registration lead, noting it stands at 1.42 million more Republicans than Democrats. He credited the edge to the party’s delivery on promises, including what he described as the nation’s most conservative legislative agenda over the past three years.
“We’ve delivered on the promises we made on the campaign trail in governance,” Power said. He drew parallels to President Donald Trump’s policies, such as economic revival and reduced regulations, while contrasting them with the “failed” Biden administration.
“We need to remind people the story of where we were and where we are now, and conservative government wins the day,” he continued.
Power stressed the importance of voter turnout as key to future victories, warning against complacency.
“We don’t want to let our feet off the gas, because we got to continue to move the conservative movement forward here in Florida so we can inspire everyone else,” he said. He pledged to focus on “turning out every Republican voter possible” to secure statewide offices and down-ballot races.
Looking ahead to 2026, Power identified opportunities in traditionally Democratic areas. He pointed to recent flips in Hillsborough and Miami-Dade counties, and noted narrow margins in others: just 15,000 votes short in Palm Beach County and 4,000 in Duval County. The party plans to target Broward and Palm Beach counties, as well as the Orlando area, he said.
Power also signaled challenges to Democratic incumbents in Congress, naming U.S. Reps. Jared Moskowitz and Darren Soto as vulnerable.
“They’re not leading for the people of Florida, and they’re out of touch with the people of Florida, and we’re going to hold them accountable,” he said.............
