Mass killings reported as security forces use live fire on Iran protesters

Iran's security forces are using lethal force against protesters nationwide, informed sources told Iran International, with preliminary estimates pointing to mass casualties as a sweeping crackdown unfolds amid a near-total internet shutdown.

Footage sent to Iran International from Kahrizak, south of Tehran, shows several dead bodies in body bags.

According to eyewitness accounts accompanying the videos, dozens of bodies are visible at the site, with additional bodies reportedly located in another nearby industrial shed.

Two eyewitnesses who visited Kahrizak in search of their loved ones told Iran International that they saw more than 400 bodies there.

The report comes as nationwide anti-regime demonstrations across Iran hit the two-week mark.

On Saturday, the Iranian regime triggered an internet "kill switch" in an apparent effort to conceal alleged abuses by security forces and as protests against it surged nationwide, according to a cybersecurity expert. The blackout reduced internet access to a fraction of normal levels.

Was Trump "locked and loaded" or not? He encouraged people to act by saying we had their backs.

He's being called by the Islamists while people who listened are dying. I very much hope he has a plan in place. Forming a plan after the fact is not good at all.

His credibility is on the line after drawing a line that he demanded not be crossed and he said he was prepared to defend. Failing to back it up will have widespread ramifications elsewhere. Following through will also have widespread consequences.

It's a box he created for himself and the country. I sure hope there's a plan, it is being executed and it is successful.

"The president has told them, ‘If you kill them, I’m coming for you,’" Keane said during an appearance on "Life, Liberty & Levin" on Saturday.

"They’ve already killed more than 40 people, and they’ve jailed many more. And in jail, they will execute them."

As nationwide anti-regime demonstrations across Iran hit the two-week mark, Keane argued that President Donald Trump should now follow through by issuing one last warning before targeting those responsible for maintaining an iron grip on the population.

"I think the president could give one more warning and then take down some of the leaders responsible for conducting violence against the Iranian population," Keane said.

"I believe that we have the leverage here to actually curtail this behavior."

This comes as multiple Israeli sources told Reuters that the Trump administration is weighing possible U.S. military intervention.

Sarah felt she had little left to lose. A 50-year-old entrepreneur in Tehran, she watched as prices soared higher while her freedoms shrank each year.

So, when protesters started gathering in the high-end Andarzgoo neighbourhood of Tehran on Saturday night, she was quick to join them. In a video sent to the Guardian via her cousin who lives abroad, people walk through the street, joyous, despite a halo of teargas hanging over their heads.

The crowd was mixed, with families, elderly people and men walking side by side. The mood was calm, until security forces approached, raised their assault rifles and began to shoot at the unarmed protesters at close range.

The next video she sent was hurried. “Shameless!” she repeated again and again as she drove away, the crackle of gunshots audible as people hurry past.

Between Iran, MN and Venezeula, things are sure an absolute mess and if we add to it the Christians being persecuted in Nigeria and elsewhere, I'd say the world is in great turmoil. 

Praying that the U.S. will become victorious and we will eventually see some peace.

President Trump was briefed on new options for military strikes in Iran, a senior U.S. official confirmed Sunday.

Mr. Trump appeared to lay out his red line for action on Friday when he warned that if the Iranian government began "killing people like they have in the past, we would get involved."

"We'll be hitting them very hard where it hurts," he said at the White House. "And that doesn't mean boots on the ground, but it means hitting them very, very hard where it hurts."

On social media, Mr. Trump offered his support for the protesters, saying that "Iran is looking at FREEDOM, perhaps like never before. The USA stands ready to help!!!"

Mr. Trump's warnings come as nationwide unrest challenging Iran's theocracy crossed the two-week mark. At least 538 people have died in violence surrounding the demonstrations, U.S.-based activists said, with fears the death toll is far higher.
