There are three sides in Iran.  The Mullahs, the supporters of the Shah and the no-kings crowd.  I hope the latter two can get together and kick the Mullahs out, which is more likely now than I have seen in the past uprisings.

Russia would be more pre-disposed to invade Iran for their oil and their warm water ports.

Where in the world can a Shi'a agitator find refuge?  The only other country with a sizable Shi'a population is Iraq.

Sunni fundamentalists consider Shi's Islam blasphemous.

I'm actually amazed he isn't room temp already.  With all that is going on in Iran, amongst all the confusion, It would be the perfect time to off him.  Doubt there would be much blowback outside of our Jew hating muzzie lovers in congress and US mayors.

Footage published Wednesday showed a protester in Tehran symbolically renaming a street after Trump, while other videos captured handwritten appeals reading, "Don’t let them kill us," Iran International reported.

Holly Dagres, a senior fellow at the Washington Institute, posted the video on X stating, "Since Trump's comments about the Iran protests, I've seen numbers videos of Iranian protesters either thanking him or, in this case, renaming streets after the US president."

The appeals came as demonstrators faced a widening security crackdown, including the deployment of armed units and tear gas near major civilian sites in Tehran.

Iran will never change, it will always be "hate Israel" first and foremost. Just like the Palestinians. It may change underwear here, but it will revert back in a few months/years.

I was living and working less than 300 miles from Iran at the time. Spent several weekends in Isfahan.

An Iranian newspaper reported that security forces blocked blood donations and took wounded protesters from a hospital after opening fire on demonstrations in the western town of Malekshahi, a rare domestic account of alleged abuses that has drawn condemnation from rights groups.

The reformist daily Ham-Mihan said on Wednesday, citing eyewitnesses, that security forces shot at demonstrators protesting in Malekshahi, near the Iraqi border, and later entered Imam Khomeini Hospital in the provincial capital Ilam, where injured protesters had been taken for treatment.

According to the newspaper, security forces prevented people from donating blood for the wounded and removed some injured protesters from the hospital without allowing them to receive medical care.

I worked with a Persian for a few years.  He was a good man who escaped after the Islamic Revolution with his mother.  They were helped by his Uncle, who was a Mullah.  Not all Mullahs are bad!
