Victor Davis Hanson on the dangerous cost of erasing Western wisdom

One of the things that leftists in Western academia have been very successful in doing is erasing people’s knowledge of the Western canon that created our extraordinary modern world, a world in which more people live more comfortable, safer, healthier, and wealthier lives than ever before in human history. Victor Davis Hanson discussed this lost wisdom in his latest podcast, and it reminded me of an extraordinary 1994 Chinese movie that ought to give all of us pause and force us to push back against the rape and slaughter of Western wisdom.
If you’re looking for wisdom in our insane world, you can do a lot worse than to check out Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words, a show that sees the great Hanson discussing today’s politics with either Jack Fowler or Sami Winc. I love the show because Hanson is so informed and so wise. Given those things, it’s no surprise to me that he staunchly supports Israel and Jews, but that’s a digression...
What I wanted to talk about is Hanson’s comments from his most recent show, in which he discusses how the West has jettisoned the wisdom of its past. The entire Western canon has been thrown overboard as too white, too Christian, too Eurocentric, too patriarchal, too Biblical, and too anything else that doesn’t align with Marxism, and all its foul subsets: tribalism, racism, antisemitism, overarching statism, anti-Christianity, pro-paganism, unfettered abortion, sexual deviation, etc.
Hanson’s comments arose after he and Jack Fowler discussed the rising tide of truly insane, fact-free, conspiracy-based antisemitism that’s arisen on the right, with people such as Tucker Carlson, Steve Bannon, and Candace Owens leading the way.
