Texas GOP Releases 2026 Primary Ballot Propositions
« on: December 27, 2025, 01:50:55 pm »
Texas Scorecard By Erin Anderson December 26, 2025

The 10 non-binding propositions will appear on the March 2026 Republican primary ballot.

Texas Republicans have released the 10 propositions that will appear on the party’s March 2026 primary ballot.

The non-binding ballot propositions are used to gauge voters’ support for the issues presented. The results will guide the party’s legislative priorities for 2027, which will be decided during the Republican Party of Texas convention in June 2026.

The measures were approved by members of the State Republican Executive Committee during their September 6 meeting by a vote of 59-3, with two abstentions.

Proposition 1
Texas property taxes should be assessed at the purchase price and phased out entirely over the next six years through spending reductions.

Proposition 2
Texas should require any local government budget that raises property taxes to be approved by voters at a November general election.

Proposition 3
Texas should prohibit denial of healthcare or any medical service based solely on the patient’s vaccination status.

I see no objection to any of these, as if adopted they will increase the return of our state to morality and economic security.

Nonbinding = Pointless

This is more of a statement of direction which of course has great benefit for citizens to know positions.

Democrats make statements such as welfare for all, abortion on demand, open borders and forced trans surgery to establish their positions.

But you believe it pointless to express where your beliefs are, I suppose.

No different from Republicans saying they would overturn Obamacare, submit individual budget bills, or cut spending.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

I believe it is pointless to put an opinion to a vote. What matters is to put an action to a vote.

If Texas wants to ban property taxes , then man up and do it.

well of course one has to take action. But it is fundamental to clarify what actions should be undertaken first.

Not to do such would be absurd.
