City of London Police have confirmed the Swedish climate campaigner was released on bail

Nigel Farage has delivered a damning one word verdict on Greta Thunberg after the climate activist was arrested for "supporting terrorist group" in London.

The 22-year-old Swede was arrested by police in the City of London after attending a protest linked to jailed members of Palestine Action, who are currently on hunger strike.

The demonstration took place in the early hours on Fenchurch Street, where campaigners gathered in support of the prisoners.

Video circulated by organisers showed the 22-year-old activist holding a placard declaring support for Palestine Action detainees and condemning what she described as genocide.

Reacting to Ms Thunberg’s arrest on Tuesday evening, the Reform UK leader reposted a video of the activist being detained by police, alongside the word “deport”.

Prominent left-wing activist Greta Thunberg was arrested in London during a pro-Palestine protest on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.

The incident occurred outside the offices of an insurance company linked to the Israeli arms manufacturer Elbit Systems, located in the city’s financial district. Thunberg, aged 22, was among a group of protesters demonstrating in support of individuals associated with Palestine Action, who were on hunger strike while imprisoned.

According to reports, Thunberg was holding a placard that read, “I support the Palestine Action prisoners. I oppose genocide.”

Palestine Action, a direct-action group that has targeted companies involved in Israel’s defense industry, was designated as a terrorist organization by the British government earlier in 2025. The group has been accused of causing significant damage to such firms, amounting to millions of dollars.
