Townspeople Defy Mayor, Refuse to Remove Nativity Scene Despite Her Orders

On the whole, conservatives tend to reject chaos in favor of order and deference to properly constituted authorities.

Nonetheless, as Marxists and cowards proliferate in public offices nationwide, we will need some good old-fashioned civil disobedience.

According to WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Mayor Miko Pickett of Mullins, South Carolina, ordered the removal of a Nativity scene on public property, only to have the chair of the committee responsible for the display refuse to remove it.

Kimberly Byrd, chair of the Mullins Beautification Committee, defended the display and her decision to ignore the mayor.

If the whole town is against her, then how did she get elected in the first place?

Why do people not pay more attention to the ballot box instead of just getting angry after the horse is out the barn door?
The Republic is lost.

It may have been a surprise to the townspeople, and they should vote the Mayor out next election!

Vulcan erupts with:
"Why do people not pay more attention to the ballot box instead of just getting angry after the horse is out the barn door?"

Because most people are not "wise enough" intellectually to recognize the "importance of party" when voting.

Because most people are as yet unable to acknowledge that -- in these times -- EVERYTHING has become political. Not because the right wants it to be so, but because the leftist-communists have MADE it so.

It used to be (in the words of James Carville):
"It's the economy, stupid!"

No more. Now...
"It's the ideology, baby!"

ANY politician I see -- at ANY level of political activity -- who chooses to put a "d" after his or her name has told me all I need to know right off the bat: that they're aligned with the party of leftism/communism.

Kinda like that saying you might hear now and then:
"Everything I need to know about islam, I learned on 9.11..."

Sorry if you don't care for this reply...

For all I know, she probably gave no indication she would pull this stunt when she was campaigning for the office.  Now the voters have been educated by force!

Did she have a statute or ordinance to back her up, or was she just winging it?

I am the mayor!!
