Hot mic: Pennsylvania principal, former DEI chair facing termination over 'Jew money' tirade
Story by Leslie Bolden • 18h
An elementary school principal in Montgomery County who previously led his district's equity and inclusion efforts is facing termination after inadvertently recording himself launching into an antisemitic triad against a parent.
Phillip Leddy, principal of Lower Gwynedd Elementary School, was placed on administrative leave Friday following the incident. According to reports from Philadelphia-area media, Leddy admitted to the conduct after realizing his phone line remained open following a voicemail he left for a student's parent.
Thinking the call had ended, Leddy allegedly began venting to another staff member in the room. The audio captured him using the phrase "Jew camp" and disparaging the parent, surmising they were likely an attorney with "Jew money." The recording also reportedly captured Leddy repeating antisemitic conspiracy theories regarding Jewish people and banking.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia issued a blistering statement regarding the incident, noting that the content of the rant was not the only concerning factor.
