The alert noted that money services businesses (MSBs) are generally required to file a suspicious activity report for a transaction that involves at least $2,000 and may violate federal law, including a “cross-border transfer of funds derived from unlawful employment or otherwise derived from funds the MSB knows, suspects, or has reason to suspect were illicitly obtained in the United States.”

I've got mixed emotions about this from a humanitarian point of view.  There are probably 6-8 Hispanic men (likely illegal) living in small house and working for a landscaping co.that I see on the way to work.  They are likely sending money back to family in Mexico, where there is no way they can make as much.  Who knows how many people they are supporting.

That may be the case initially, but the admin. is taking the position that since they are not here legally the money they make is illegal. In the end the dollar amount able to be sent without scrutiny will be smaller and smaller. Also, if the same account is sending multiple amounts within a short time frame it will trigger a red flag.

The Patriot Act required financial institutions to perform due diligence to acquire proof of identity for it customers.  This was to thwart money laundering and fraud.

I believe I needed to provide my passort as proof of identity and legal immigration status (as a (natural born) American citizen).

If I, a natural born American citizen, must provide proof of legal immigration status for employment and banking, what's the excuse for illegal aliens to not to?

A couple of years ago I had to have a plumber out (not one I typically use). He informed me that he didn't go under houses or dig. If either of those two things were needed he would call his helper and I would have to pay extra. I was in a bind so I didn't run him off.  So when some digging was needed he called his helper...who was Hispanic. Probably not a typical case but it sure illustrates the mind set of a lot of people.

Not true.

If you look at how Australia responded with new technology in farming you can see one example. If you're thinking of high labor jobs such as drywalling we will see technology come into play as well. If you're thinking of landscaping we have more than enough young men that aren't working that can fill those spots.

Some people will use the argument that illegals do jobs Americans won't because they love having their "indentured servants". It's time this comes to an end.

A normal reaction if you have very cheap, compliant labor available. If that labor source is not available the tradesman has to decide whether he wants to do that job, or leave it to the younger man starting out who is willing to do the dirty work to get ahead.

The biggest problem in the trades is we don't have enough young men being taught skills. Everyone was sold the garbage that you need to go to college, take on a huge amount of debt for a degree that is worthless to get ahead.

I'm retired now, but I was in real estate for close to 40 years. The contractors I had decades long relationships with were mostly Eastern European. They were taught trades early on when they did not take the path to going to college. A fair number of these guys became millionaires. There is no reason young men who are not interested in pursuing a worthless degree can't pursue a skill. All they need is to be shown there is an alternative.

Why are you assuming that people ‘willing to work’ don’t take welfare? Very Julio you see standing around a Home Depot or other her place, is I guarantee you on the left welfare getting everything they can and most likely lying through their teeth o get the maximum. Th way to get them to self deport is to take away all the free benefits, like untaxed income, free food, etc.

Living together in large numbers is nothing new for them, even the legals did/do it to be able and to save money. They even ran their own savings plan, at least the ones that worked for me, each would put  a set amount into thee pot and each month a different one would get hat was in the pot, hat probably saved when hey let anyone open a bank account. And the hispanics/Latinos/Los Indios that worked for and sent money home wasn’t primarily to support family, it was to buy property, build a home on it and build a bank account so they could go home and live quite well. I had a grandma woking for m hat did just that and returned to Mexico living like a qun on her social security.

And as I recall here were a extremely large number of young men that came across the border during the Biden free for all and I doubt hey are supporters of anyone back home.
