A father and three children have been killed after their car was hit head-on by a driver who had carjacked a vehicle just an hour before.
Alvin Corado, 35, his children MaKenlee Corado, 11, Toretto Corado, 8, and their friend Jase Green, 12, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died at the scene just before 4:40 p.m. on November 24.
Their Ford sedan was hit on Highway 83 in Douglas County by a stolen Toyota hatchback which had been carjacked from a parking garage in Aurora around an hour before. Police say Walter Huling, 31, had pulled a woman from the driver’s seat and sped away.
Investigators say the driver of the stolen vehicle had “lost control for unknown reasons, over-corrected, rolled into the northbound lane and crashed head-on into the family’s car.”
Huling was killed instantly in the crash, according to the Douglas County Coroner’s Office. He had an extensive criminal past, Aurora police confirmed to Denver 7, adding that he was on parole at the time of the crash.
