“I Will Kill You Personally”: Florida Man Faces Prison After Chilling Threat To U.S. Senator
Story by Maria Hernandez • 20h

A Florida man is facing potential prison time after admitting he used social media to threaten the life of a United States Senator. Walter George Bechtel, III, 39, entered a guilty plea on October 2 for making the threats online.

The charge stems from a post made on June 9 via X. According to federal court documents, Bechtel, of Miami, directed a message at the lawmaker, accusing them of financial corruption before issuing a specific death threat.

“You used to hate millionaires when you first started and then began to hate billionaires once you yourself became a millionaire through shady backroom deals,” the post read. It concluded with the statement, “I will kill you personally old man,” followed by a smiling halo emoji.

When investigators from the U.S. Capitol Police confronted Bechtel, he did not deny the post. Authorities stated that he admitted to sending the communication and reaffirmed his desire to physically harm the Senator.

Awesome job of reporting there, Tampa Free Press.  Is there a reason you neglected to mention the name of the threatened "old man" Senator?
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

DOJ didn't release that info.
