Russian Military Spy Ship Spotted Near Hawaii, U.S. Coast Guard Says

A Russian military ship was observed operating in the Pacific waters near the continent on October 29, 2025, identified by the FBI in the Oahu region, Hawaii. Movements like this reflect Russia’s increasing naval activity and raise concerns about maritime espionage and monitoring of critical infrastructure. Recent incidents involving Russian spy ships in other regions, such as the Yantar in waters near the United Kingdom, underscore the importance of continuous military surveillance and defense strategies to protect national security against foreign intelligence operations. In 1973 the carrier I was on headed out of from Alameda, Ca. and encountered a Russian "fishing fleet."  The Captain cranked up the speed in excess of 30 knots and steered a course through the middle of the 4 ships.  A 73,000 ton ship going over 30 knots can generate quite a wake, as the Ruskies found out. :th_10444:
