The blast radius from the latest Epstein Files battle was far and wide.

Powerful people were caught in the shrapnel. Bizarre, downright creepy, and often embarrassing email exchanges with Jeffrey Epstein, the deceased sex trafficker and power broker of many an American and international elite, were made public. And several big questions are emerging from the latest tranche of files, released by the House Oversight Committee on Nov. 12, as the moving pieces behind the scenes in Washington become more and more important as to whether the American public will ever have accountability and transparency.

What is the Trump administration’s long-term strategy in handling the political blowback, and why did the president do an about-face and call for the files to be released? If the House votes Tuesday to release all of the files, what’s the likelihood that the Senate will shoot it down? What’s going on behind the scenes with Republican and Democratic senators at this moment? What sort of backroom deals are being discussed? And what’s going on with Jay Clayton, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, who is now heading a new investigation into Epstein’s ties to Democrats? The answers to these questions are far from dry-cut.

However, one thing has become very clear in this latest saga. Congressional Democrats are so hell bent on getting the files released and inflicting political damage on President Trump that they are willing to throw big-wig Democratic establishment figures under the bus. Namely, two former presidents, Joe Biden and Bill Clinton, and Larry Summers, who served under Clinton as treasury secretary and Barack Obama as a senior adviser, and is one of the most prominent establishment neoliberal thinkers in the past two decades.

The ironic thing is that the blowback will be much worse for the Dems than Repubs.

When Trump was hanging around with Epstein, Trump was a nominal Democrat.
