A New York teenager was arrested and charged with the murder of another teenage boy, who died after being stabbed at a house party.
The Suffolk County Police Department announced on Monday that officers arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with the stabbing death of 15-year-old Liam Delemo. The suspect, who was not named by police because of his age, was charged as a juvenile with second-degree murder. The alleged incident occurred on Nov. 3 at a home in West Babylon, New York, where another teenager threw a party that drew 90 to 100 guests, according to police.
Police said that a fight broke out at around 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 3, culminating in the suspect allegedly stabbing Delemo. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and died of his injuries. Local NBC affiliate WNBC reported that Delemo died during surgery and was weeks away from turning 16.
