Republicans scrutinize ‘inconsistencies’ in New Jersey election, including hundreds of thousands of new Democratic voters
Story by Brady Knox, Washington Examiner • 15h

Republicans are crying foul in the New Jersey gubernatorial election, viewing an influx of nearly 500,000 new Democratic voters with skepticism.

The landslide Republican loss in New Jersey was one of the biggest surprises of Tuesday night, as Republican strategists had viewed the race as the more promising gubernatorial race compared to Virginia. The scale of the loss has led some Republicans to question the integrity of the results, given an increase of 500,000 new voters versus 2021, more than double the state's population growth.

"New Jersey saw 500,000+ more votes than any other year in history, and nearly all of them went to Democrats?" popular X user Chief Nerd said, alongside a contemplating emoji.

The post was quoting another user pointing out that every New Jersey gubernatorial election since 1969 had hovered around 2 million to 2.5 million voters, with the winner claiming about 1.1 to 1.4 million votes. This over half-century streak was broken on Tuesday, with well over three million voters, with 1.7 million going to Democrat Mikie Sherrill.

Once again, Republicans do absolutely nothing to monitor election integrity before and during the election, then play the victim card afterward.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

My thought exactly!
Live in  harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

Mikie Sherrill - 1.7 million votes

Jack Ciattarelli - 1.3 million votes

* But, subtract those suspicious 500,000 votes for Sherrill, and ... oh look, the Republican guy actually won ...

IMHO Trump just only gave Lip Service to the irregularities of his election when hellary almost beat him for the next 4 years.
bidet won.   Seems he's doing the same thing this term since he won't be on the Ballot in 2028.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

For those looking for inconsistencies, here is a county-by-county breakdown of a comparison between 2021 and 2025.  Each county shows the increase in vote totals for each party candidate.  The Democrat candidate showed on average a 37% increase in total votes, and this without a decrease in Republican votes.  So it wasn't a matter of people who voted Republican last time voting Democrat this time.  It 's a matter of new votes showing up this time that weren't there last time.  This definitely looks fishy.  Counties shown in bold font denote ones that Ciattarelli won in 2021 but lost in 2025:

  \\\\     GOP      Dem
  Cape May   +  3.4 %   + 23.3 %
  Bergen   + 16.5 %   + 29.2 %
  Ocean   + 25.7 %   + 29.6 %
  Mercer   +  1.8 %   + 32.0 %
  Monmouth   +  8.0 %   + 33.0 %
  Warren   +  4.9 %   + 35.3 %
  Morris   +  6.2 %   + 35.6 %
  Salem   +  3.7 %   + 35.8 %
  Hunterdon   +  2.8 %   + 36.0 %
  Camden   +  5.3 %   + 37.5 %
  Essex   + 19.5 %   + 37.6 %
  Burlington   +  3.9 %   + 38.4 %
  Somerset   +  2.0 %   + 38.5 %
  Atlantic   +  4.2 %   + 38.7 %
  Hudson   + 32.5 %   + 40.9 %
  Passaic   + 13.3 %   + 42.1 %
  Middlesex   +  9.7 %   + 43.2 %
  Union   + 14.7 %   + 45.0 %
  Cumberland   +  5.6 %   + 46.2 %
  Glocester   + 10.7 %   + 47.1 %
  Sussex   +  3.8 %   + 47.6 %

Statewide, Ciattarelli showed an 11% improvement over his numbers four years ago.  It is also worth noting that in 2021, Cittarelli won the Congressional district that Sherril represents.  The district that gave her 222k votes in the 2024 Presidential election year gave her 375k votes one year later in an off-election year.

For those wondering about the Mercer County 1.8% - its the home of Princeton University, ultra liberal bastion, where, like most college towns, the students vote at least twice: once in the county of their university and again in their home town.

As someone said on another thread: "Stupid people vote. If you have enough of them, you don’t need to steal an election."

A large group of stupid people voted.  No inconsistency found.

Assuming (dangerously, perhaps), that 'smart' people (Well, >100 IQ) outnumber the rank stupids, how do we get 'smart' people to vote? (Or will that work against us?)

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Perhaps what we need are wise voters, and unfortunately those are in substantially shorter supply than so-called “smart” voters.
