Indiana cleaning woman killed in shooting after crew arrives at wrong home: Police
 
WHITESTOWN, Ind. (WXIN) – A woman died following a shooting at an Indiana neighborhood in what appeared to be a case of mistaken identity, according to police in Whitestown.

The Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department reported that early Wednesday morning they responded to a reported shooting and found a woman dead on the porch of a home. Officers said it appeared a shot had been fired from inside, with a bullet hole spotted in the front door.
 
Initially, police were told the incident was a home invasion but after further investigation WMPD said in a statement, “the facts gathered do not support that a residential entry occurred.” It appears the woman was part of a cleaning crew who had arrived at the wrong address, police said.

The woman was already dead when police arrived, according to WMPD.

A lady who was coming to clean my house several months ago went to the wrong address.  My neighbors across the street posted a photo of her from their Ring camera on our HOA Facebook page, asking if this lady had been casing anyone else's house, or had anyone seen her acting sketchy, etc.  All she did was ring their bell and knock on their door.  Pretty sad, really. 

I responded and told them that she was coming to clean my house, she does a really excellent job, and could they please take down her photo because that felt kind of rude.
