Michelle Obama Tells Stephen Colbert She’s ‘Lost’ in Trump’s America

Former first lady Michelle Obama joined Stephen Colbert Tuesday night and delivered a depressing diatribe about the President Donald Trump-led White House ballroom construction, calling herself “confused” and “lost” as “standards and norms” are being broken.

“The West Wing was work. It was sometimes sadness, problems, it was the guts of the White House and the East Wing was where you felt light. That’s where children came. We had puppies,” Obama began. “It makes me confused. I am confused by what are our norms, what are our standards, what are our traditions. I just feel like, what is important to us as a nation anymore? Because I’m lost.”

When I was 7, I got lost in the old Boston Garden.

I also got lost at Miami International Airport going from the Internation Flights terminal to the Domestic Flights terminal.

I also got lost on I-64, at night, west of Richmond virginia, running on fumes. on a foggy night near the Shenandoah Valley, before GPS and cell phones.  I should have never listened to that crazy lady at the Mass Pike Charlton Rest Stop who said to take I-64 to I-81, instead of driving back from Florida on I-95 the whole way.  She did give me good advice.  She was right about skunks not liking Daffodil bulbs.  No more wasting money on tulip bulbs for this guy.

When you get lost often enough, you figure out how to get found.

She was lost from the moment of her birth as far as I am concerned.  Her opinion on any subject has no relevance to anything.  From the moment she made it clear she hated this country, I did not give one sh*t what this bimbo with a package bigger than 90% of all men had to say.

Did you see the video of her/him dancing with Ellen DeGengeres?  If it was not doctored, she/he has one huge package.

The Obamas had their moment in the sun.  I do not care to hear or see either of these anti American POSs.

You would have been on Afton Mountain.  That's near where I grew up.  When they first put in I-64 on the east side, they had to come back later and install runway lights because of the fog.

I recall lights set in the pavement on foggy nights. That was the '70s,  and the fog there was notorious.

Former first lady Michelle Obama revealed on a recent episode of her podcast that she was left infuriated by a moment on Air Force One in 2009 when she debated whether to wear Bermuda shorts while on vacation — which ultimately led to controversy.

"The fact that we had to spend time thinking about that kind of stuff in ways that my husband didn’t — it was really infuriating," Obama said during an episode on her podcast, "IMO With Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson," which she co-hosts with her brother. "Then an article, a negative article, still happened."

The former first lady explained that in August 2009 she and the former president were set to depart Air Force One for a hike in the Grand Canyon while on their first vacation since the inauguration earlier that year. While she fretted over what attire would be appropriate for a first lady and not draw public criticism, Barack Obama did not need to put effort into thinking about his outfit, she recounted.

"It was 100 degrees," Michelle Obama remembered of the conversation. "Barack — I was like, 'Well, what are you wearing?' He was like, 'Well, I'm gonna throw on some sneakers, I'm gonna take my jacket off and roll my sleeves up' because that's what men can do. White shirt, no collar, no tie. That was how he changed."



Michelle Obama said she debated whether to wear hiking shorts or a dress before landing on wearing Bermuda shorts.

"I can't wear hiking shorts there, and I can't wear a dress to hike," she said. "That would be crazy. People would call me 'disconnected' and 'un-American.' I'm at the Grand Canyon in a tea-length dress with flats? I was like, 'That's not how people go to the Grand Canyon.'"

"I eventually opted for the thing that felt mostly me," Michelle Obama continued. "And it was the Bermuda shorts. Because if we're going on a hike, this is how a normal person would go on a hike."

Former first lady Michelle Obama revealed on a recent episode of her podcast that she was left infuriated by a moment on Air Force One in 2009 when she debated whether to wear Bermuda shorts while on vacation — which ultimately led to controversy.

"The fact that we had to spend time thinking about that kind of stuff in ways that my husband didn’t — it was really infuriating," Obama said during an episode on her podcast, "IMO With Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson," which she co-hosts with her brother. "Then an article, a negative article, still happened."

The former first lady explained that in August 2009 she and the former president were set to depart Air Force One for a hike in the Grand Canyon while on their first vacation since the inauguration earlier that year. While she fretted over what attire would be appropriate for a first lady and not draw public criticism, Barack Obama did not need to put effort into thinking about his outfit, she recounted.

"It was 100 degrees," Michelle Obama remembered of the conversation. "Barack — I was like, 'Well, what are you wearing?' He was like, 'Well, I'm gonna throw on some sneakers, I'm gonna take my jacket off and roll my sleeves up' because that's what men can do. White shirt, no collar, no tie. That was how he changed."



Michelle Obama said she debated whether to wear hiking shorts or a dress before landing on wearing Bermuda shorts.

"I can't wear hiking shorts there, and I can't wear a dress to hike," she said. "That would be crazy. People would call me 'disconnected' and 'un-American.' I'm at the Grand Canyon in a tea-length dress with flats? I was like, 'That's not how people go to the Grand Canyon.'"

"I eventually opted for the thing that felt mostly me," Michelle Obama continued. "And it was the Bermuda shorts. Because if we're going on a hike, this is how a normal person would go on a hike."

Former First Lady Michelle Obama is under fire for making several disparaging comments about white Americans during a promotional event for her new book; “The Look.”

Obama made the comments while speaking with Hollywood actress Tracee Ellis Ross for conversation on “beauty, culture and confidence” at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. The event was aimed at promoting Obama’s new book, “The Look,” which “chronicles the former First Lady’s style evolution from her husband’s 2004 U.S. Senate campaign through her White House years and beyond.”

Midway through the discussion, Obama erupted into a lengthy tirade aimed at White Americans, whom she accused of consistently meddling in “black folks'” business and livelihoods. “Let me explain something to white people. Our hair comes out of our head naturally in a curly pattern. So when we’re straightening it to follow your beauty standards, we are trapped by the straightness,” the former First Lady ranted.

“That’s why so many of us can’t swim and we run away from the water. People won’t go to the gym because we’re trying to keep our hair straight for y ‘all. It is exhausting and it’s so expensive and it takes up so much time,” she continued as Ross enthusiastically agreed. “Braids are for y ‘all so we can work harder and focus on the work. So why do we need an act, an act of law to tell white folks to get out of our hair? Don’t tell me how to wear my hair. Don’t wonder about it. Don’t touch it. Just don’t. It just hurts.”
