Rocco, whose credits include Veronica Mars, Jane the Virgin and The Morning Show, is one of many four-legged actors in the L.A. area who aren’t landing Hollywood gigs like they used to. As AI continues to advance, more productions are opting to create animal performances in post rather than film with the real thing — a trend that’s left trainers, wranglers and animal coordinators increasingly anxious about the future of their profession.

I think that's true. But what is going to make me mad is if they AI the great actors thru the years...and put these images in crap movies. Of course the dead folks don't have an option. But I wonder if the younger actors can copyright themselves?

There are a certain degree of personality rights that people have over their own name, image and likeness. Not that these AI companies care about personality rights or copyright. But as a company using these AI tools, they're bound to the same copyright and trademark laws as any other method of filmmaking.

But really, would it be much worse than what happened in real life to Bela Lugosi? Heck, if you inserted him into some AI slop film, it'd probably be BETTER than some of the films he actually did!

well Lugosi was married five time so maybe alimony had something to do with some of his movies, or that he was addicted to morphine and methadone because severe pain. Who knows, but no matter what there is just no excusing Plan9😱
