Excerpt:

America, if there’s one thing more fake than Kamala Harris’ chameleon accents, it’s California Gov. Gavin Newsom trying to play street-tough on an NBA podcast—cringe levels hit the roof as he debuts a “hip hop persona,” whining about “payin’ the bills, man,” “hustlin’,” “I raised myself,” and “Wonder bread and Mac ‘n cheese. That’s how I grew up, bro.” But let’s get real—his dad was the high-powered attorney for the billionaire Getty family, not exactly “rough and tumble.” This slick-haired elitist, born with a silver spoon, thinks dropping “bro” makes him relatable? It’s laughable pandering, echoing Harris’ phony Southern drawl at rallies—both desperate to cosplay as “one of the people” while living in luxury.

What is he talking about?

His dad was an attorney for Getty Oil and a judge - His great-grandfather was a nephrologist and a professor of medicine at Stanford...

The governor of California, whose dad was the attorney for the billionaire Getty family, went full Hillary-Clinton-and-hot-sauce in his interview with the "All the Smoke" podcast:

Every day in the backyard, just bouncin' the basketball. Throwing the ball against the wall until the ball is just, like, frayin', man ... that's it the whole thing ... It just saved me. It got me into college.

Yes, Gavin Newsom is just like your average rags to riches NBA story of a poor kid, shootin' hoops in the backyard, and who never would have made it out of the neighborhood if it wasn't for ballin'.

No, Gavin Newsom did not come from a wealthy family, but he was born into a well-connected one that helped him launch his business career. His father, William Newsom, was an attorney for oil magnate J. Paul Getty, and the families remained close friends, with the Gettys providing crucial financial backing for Newsom's early ventures. Newsom himself has called himself "blessed" by the support from wealthy, well-connected families.

Family connections:

His father, William Newsom, was an attorney for J. Paul Getty and helped negotiate the ransom for Getty's grandson, John Paul Getty III. The two families became close friends.

Info about Noisome's upbringing is complicated with seeming inconsistencies. His father was indeed lawyer for Getty Oil, but his parents divorced when Gavin was age 3. Supposedly his mother had to take on 3 jobs to make ends meet. OTOH, Gavin attended a French-English bilingual Catholic private school in SF, which probably was pretty pricey (by mid-70s standards). His story is not impossible, especially if there was a time when his father wasn't paying child support and alimony, but there is evidence that suggests that if there was such a time, it was not his entire childhood and may have been brief.

To hear him tell it, he was running the streets with the Crips or the Bloods. In his case, however, the gang colors were Burberry plaid. I say, Muffy!

I think I've already posted this one here of "Children of the Rich."

Newsom Recounts Tough Childhood Where He Got In One Little Fight And Was Forced To Move In With His Auntie And Uncle In Bel-Air
 Oct 27, 2025 · BabylonBee.com

LOS ANGELES, CA — California Governor Gavin Newsom gave voters a rare glimpse into his tragic story while appearing on a popular basketball and entertainment podcast, recounting his tough childhood where he got in one little fight and was forced to move in with his auntie and uncle in Bel-Air.

Newsom told the previously unknown story to illustrate the challenges he faced as a disadvantaged youth, giving insight into how far he had come since he lived on the mean streets as a young boy to now govern the Golden State.

"This is a story all about how my life got flipped. I mean, completely turned upside down," Newsom said. "On the playground is where I spent most of my days, really. You know… chillin' out… maxin'... relaxin', all cool. Shootin' some b-ball outside after school. That kind of thing. But there were a couple of guys, and they were just up to no good. They started making trouble in and around my neighborhood. I ended up getting into one little fight, and my mom got scared, and she told me, ‘You're going to move in with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air.' That's when everything changed for me. Hand to God."

The hosts and viewers of the podcast were amazed by the story. ...

Yuppie scum.
You don’t become cooler with age but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool.
