Government shutdown will halt SNAP, and DeSantis accuses Republicans of trying to sabotage property tax cuts

Local officials warned that SNAP benefits might be interrupted if the government shutdown continues into November, and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis slams a Republican-led plan to lower property taxes.

SNAP benefits may stop for millions of Floridians if the government shutdown continues in November

The ongoing government shutdown may soon have a direct impact on 42 million people, including 2.8 million Floridians, receiving benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Starting Nov. 1, SNAP recipients may experience delays in receiving money to purchase groceries due to federal funds running out at the end of October.

“SNAP benefits for the month of November will not be issued until federal funding is restored. You may receive notices about your eligible benefit amount, but you will not receive any benefits deposited to your EBT card during this time,” according to an “Important Message for Florida SNAP recipients” posted on the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) website.......

Live in  harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

Wait until all the EBT cards in the big cities "run dry".

THEN I reckon we'll see some action in Congress.
... in response to a whole LOTTA "action"... in the streets.

The dem-communists aren't giving in easily on this one. These aren't the d/c's of ten, twenty, even thirty years ago. They're out to win, and they just don't care.

Is it time to nuke the filibuster in the Senate yet...?
THAT will end the stalemate.
I'm thinking the only other way it will end is for the Pubbies to cave...
