Federal Workers Line Up at Food Banks After Dem Whip Calls Them ‘Leverage’

Washington, DC-area food bank serving federal workers impacted by the government shutdown ran out of items on Friday morning while people were still waiting in line — one day after House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA) called suffering families a “leverage” to use against Republicans.

Democrats are just pawns in game of life.
You don’t become cooler with age but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool.

I don't have a clue as to how much money these federal workers make, but I would bet that it is enough that they should have some kind of  monetary cushion to fall  back on.  Lining up at a food bank is nothing more than an opportunity to get attention as the spotlights the 'hardship' that the GOP has caused due to the shutdown.

The longer the shutdown continues the more the DEMS can get the media to focus on the shutdown as the fault of the GOP.

From my understanding Johnson has shutdown the House. That obviously shuts down negotiations.  I understand Johnson is playing hardball ... but Chuckie just isn't going to buckle under.
Live in  harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

I hope the people remember this in next year's Senate elections when the Democrats will be working to flip Maine, Ohio, Iowa, and North Carolina.

Quite agree. They miss one paycheck and they're starving to death? They're pretty darn well paid. How can they not have a few dollars in savings?

Where were these food banks when Covid lockdowns were forcing hundreds and thousands out of work while those of us lucky enough to keep our private sector jobs saw our pay temporarily cut, all the while federal workers kept getting their full paychecks while sitting at home watching Netflix?

I have ZERO sympathy for any non-military government worker.

I'm losing sympathy for large numbers of self-proclaimed victims. My cousin's daughter supposedly lost her federal job a few months ago in an office doing nothing for an agency that doesn't need to exist. I had no sympathy.
