The US Coast Guard has achieved a significant victory in maritime narcotics interdiction with the recent seizure of a $1.4 billion drug fleet in the Eastern Pacific.

More than 100,000 pounds of cocaine have been seized as a result of Operation Pacific Viper, which was started in early August 2025 and accounts for 26% of the Coast Guard's total seizures for FY 2025. The elite Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron (HITRON), working with aircraft and cutters, disables smuggling vessels with precision rifle fire, enabling interdiction teams to board and seize drugs.

1.4 Billion... Ouch, even Elon Musk would feel that kind of sting. Obama could actually complete his goofy library with that kind of dough.

Makes one wonder just how much dang drugs are Americans taking that I don't see on the surface when I meet them in the supermarkets and fairgrounds. I see them pictured in arrest pics in the newspaper and occasionally recognize an old classmate or friend of a friend. But it is everywhere... enriching some drug lord(s) in some country that hates me and mine for not partaking in their poison. Heck China is in the game with both feet, and laughing all the way to the bank while destroying lives that end up draining society down.

Yes, the drug war may never be won completely, but it is a fight worth fighting. IMHO
