DHS on High Alert After Anti-ICE Shooting
FBI Director Kash Patel has revealed that Joshua Jahn meticulously planned an attack on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, TX. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced heightened security measures at ICE facilities nationwide in response to the attack, amid growing concerns over escalating anti-ICE rhetoric.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem condemned inflammatory language, suggesting it may have fueled the violence, while authorities continue to analyze Jahn’s devices, writings, and online activity to uncover his motives.
Patel detailed the ongoing investigation, stating, “FBI Dallas and FBI HQ have been working 24/7 to seize devices, exploit data, and process writings obtained on location and in the subject’s person/residence/bedroom.”
Patel said, “One of the handwritten notes recovered read, ‘Hopefully this will give ICE agents real terror, to think, ’is there a sniper with AP [armor-piercing] rounds on that roof?’”
According to DHS, Jahn fired indiscriminately during the attack, resulting in the death of one detainee and injuries to two others before he took his own life. Investigators recovered shell casings inscribed with “ANTI-ICE,” signaling a targeted motive.
