There are two members of the Arizona Corporation Commission who are up for re-election. They are Kevin Thompson and Nick Meyers. I have heard both of them speak from time to time and they are pretty reasonable.
However, they've managed to offend the far right (for reasons I don't fully understand or that are not clear) and they now face challenges from two individuals who are essentially MAGA sponsored. They are Ralph Heap (a doctor) and David Marshall (a pastor). They were recruited by the AZ Freedom Caucus, again why.....I don't fully understand.
What is said....
Two Republican state representatives announced their plans to challenge two incumbent Corporation Commissioners in 2026, saying the two commissioners have not done enough to support President Donald Trump’s energy agenda and protect ratepayers.
Just how they arrived at this, I don't know.
