Ex-Jill Biden Aide Slams Toxic Culture
Former Vice President Kamala Harris’s memoir, 107 Days, has sparked controversy with revelations about internal tensions in the Biden White House, drawing sharp criticism from Michael LaRosa, former press secretary to First Lady Jill Biden. Released amid ongoing discussions about the 2024 election fallout, the memoir has prompted LaRosa to publicly denounce what he describes as a toxic culture of bullying and loyalty enforcement within the administration, a claim echoed by anonymous former aides in a Politico report.
The book details friction between Harris and White House staff, spotlighting incidents that allegedly diminished her role.
Harris’s memoir recounts a specific Election Night episode where staff removed celebratory items, highlighting strained dynamics. LaRosa commented on one supportive staff member, saying, “I know Storm. She has a good heart, so I’m glad she was able to anticipate the vice president’s needs. But what’s a little bit jarring to me is anybody who — I’m from Pennsylvania, from the Lehigh Valley, a ground zero.”
He further noted the foreseeability of Harris’s electoral challenges, stating, “I was preparing family, friends who are not political as early or as late as August. You could see the numbers.”
LaRosa singled out Anthony Bernal, later Jill Biden’s chief of staff, as a key figure in fostering a bullying environment, a sentiment echoed by other former aides who have anonymously criticized Harris’s management style.
