Progressive watchdog group Public Citizen says its 'No Kings" demonstrations are meant to defend democracy and protest what organizers call "executive overreach." Yet nationwide arrests, injuries and warnings about outside agitators are adding complexity to that narrative.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Lisa Gilbert, co-president of Public Citizen, rejected suggestions that the movement had turned violent, saying that the goal was to send a message of unity rather than confrontation.

"The idea that America is a democracy is, at its core, small-'d' democratic. It’s not [the] Democrat [party]; it’s not [the] Republican [party]," she said. "It is the idea that we have a system that is based on checks and balances, where we understand that our elected officials answer to us. And that our votes count and matter."

"At its core that is what this ["No Kings"] is all about. And why people are turning out."

"No Kings" protests against President Donald Trump and his administration's policies are set to kick-off in cities nationwide Saturday to declare, "America has No Kings."

"We’re standing together against the abuses of power, cruelty, and corruption. On October 18, we gather to remind President Trump and his enablers: America has No Kings!" the movement's website states of the upcoming Saturday protests.

Protests declaring America has "no kings" first mobilized back in February on President's Day to denounce the Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency and cuts to the federal government. The "No Kings" movement, however, gained national prominence in June, when Trump held a miliary parade honoring the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary, which also fell on his 79th birthday.

Tens of thousands of protesters took to the streets of Washington, Los Angeles, Denver, New York, Philadelphia and elsewhere to protest what they viewed as Trump's "coronation" day, as well as other administration policies, including its ongoing deportation efforts.

"The world saw the power of the people. President Trump’s birthday parade was drowned out by protests in every state and across the globe. His attempt to turn June 14 into a coronation collapsed, and the story became the strength of a movement rising against his authoritarian power grabs," the "No Kings" website outlines.

Four months later, "No Kings" protests will be held in cities such as Philadelphia, New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles and Hartford, Connecticut, to protest the Trump administration with a heightened focus on speaking out against the administration's efforts to deport millions of illegal immigrants residing in the U.S. The group states on its website that it anticipates "millions across the country" will "march against authoritarian politics and billionaire takeover."

Nope. No Kings since Martin Luther Jr....and when the man who publicly espoused peaceful protest died, that idea seemed to die with him. The ensuing riots are history.

What we do have is a bunch of astroturf, true believers, useful idiots, etc. who will try to re create the antiwar riots (also Leftist) of the late 60s and racial unrest of the same general era.

Somehow, these people having a collective tantrum is supposed to convince the rest of us that all we hold dear, and that which some have placed their very lives on the line for, is wrong.

Hillary Calls For Radical ‘No Kings’ Protests Against Trump This Weekend

A wave of anti-Trump protests is set to sweep across the nation this weekend, as progressive activists — with vocal support from Hillary Clinton and other prominent Democrats — prepare for what they’re calling a “No Kings” day of action. The coordinated movement, spanning all 50 states, is being billed by organizers as a show of resistance against what they claim is “authoritarian overreach” under President Donald Trump’s leadership.

The demonstrations, which are expected to draw millions, mark the largest organized liberal protest effort since the Women’s March in 2017. Clinton, who has largely stayed out of the political spotlight since Trump’s reelection, reemerged online this week to urge her followers to ‘stand up for democracy’ and “remind the world that America has no kings.”

“In two days, be a part of the largest peaceful protest in modern American history,” she wrote on X Thursday. “Join No Kings this Saturday at an event near you to push back on Trump’s power grabs and make it clear—we don’t do monarchs here.”

From Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles, major cities are preparing for what law enforcement officials are describing as a “high alert weekend.” Thousands of protesters have already begun gathering in New York’s Times Square, while similar crowds are expected at San Francisco’s Civic Center Plaza and Chicago’s Federal Plaza.

The movement, dubbed “No Kings,” is organized by a coalition of groups that includes Indivisible, the ACLU, various labor unions, and newly formed grassroots networks such as the 50501 Movement — short for “50 protests, 50 states, 1 movement.” Organizers say the message is simple: reject what they see as the erosion of democratic norms and an alarming consolidation of power within the executive branch.

The White Houses Response to the 'No Kings' Protests: 'Who Cares?'

The 'No Kings' protests are set to kick off Saturday, October 18th, across the United States. Organizers say more than 2,500 rallies are set to take place across all 50 states, led by a coalition of over 200 progressive groups spearheaded by Indivisible, whose sole goal is to "resist the Trump agenda."

Major demonstrations are expected in Washington, D.C., New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

Protesters have been encouraged to wear yellow "to show collective strength in the face of oppression." The organizers have accused President Trump and his administration of "sending militarized agents into our communities, silencing voters, and handing billionaires giveaways while families struggle."

When asked about the demonstration, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told Fox News Digital, "Who cares?"

Other republicans have also dismissed the nationwide protests.
