U.S. Retail Giants Abandon Stores as Crime Wave Triggers $100B Crisis
Story by Rodrik Cassel•

In January 2024, In-N-Out stunned Oakland by announcing it would shut down its airport-area restaurant—the first closure in the chain’s 75-year history. COO Denny Warnick said crime had made the site unsafe despite the store being “busy and profitable.”

Owner Lynsi Snyder later described the area as “absolutely dangerous,” citing shootings, stabbings, and rampant theft. Oakland police logged 1,335 nearby incidents since 2019, including 1,174 car break-ins.

But this wasn’t an isolated case—it was only the beginning of a nationwide retail retreat.

It is no problem for the people of Oakland.  They can cross the Bay Area Bridge and get robbed and assaulted in San Fransicko! 22222frying pan

As if retailers won't increase prices throughout the chain to compensate for losses due to theft, not to mention slumping sales in areas where customers are likely to be met with criminal activity.

Maybe Biden doesn't get all the credit for inflation after all.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

You voted for this, you dismiss us here in the interior as flyover country filled with inbred rednecks, and now the rent is coming due.

Sorry if my give a damn is busted.

Vote for the party of crime and criminals ... you'll get more crime and more criminals.

Dems are anti-capitalist.  They don't lose sleep when Big Corporations lose money.  They will whine about the various food, healthcare, and retail deserts that arise in high crime areas.  Dems blame it on 'racism' and 'discrimination' to deflect blame.

Dems think they are blameless, so they scapegoat Whitey.
