Hmm this is a little awkward because, if I’m not mistaken, you were appointed the US Attorney for the District of New Jersey and you had no federal courtroom experience and little criminal law experience. You had never been a prosecutor, and never oversaw complex investigations let alone successfully present the results of one to a federal jury.
In fact, to win Senate confirmation, it looks like you had to promise to appoint a deputy with substantial experience. Essentially you needed a more seasoned attorney, who should have had the top job if merit were the qualification, to babysit you.
It would seem your primary qualification was your loyalty to then President Bush and your ability to raise money for his campaign ($350,000).
Is that the premiere organization you’re talking about?
