Army Captain Charged With 40 Felonies
Army Capt. Sean Benjamin Cushman faces over 40 felony charges in Walton County, Florida, including sexual battery on a child and child pornography offenses. The case gained attention due to evidence linked to Florida from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, prompting a multi-count prosecution and ongoing investigation.
Cushman was arrested in July in South Carolina for suspected sexual exploitation of a minor, with Walton County contacted in August after a residence search.
Detectives found images and videos on Cushman’s phone involving a victim under 18, believed to have been recorded in Walton County.
The Walton County sheriff’s office said, “The detective who was lead on the search warrant at Cushman’s home in Aiken, located images and videos on Cushman’s phone of child pornography with a victim under 18 that were believed to be recorded in Walton County.”
