Once a muslim sets foot on a piece of territory, they consider it theirs forever. So now we are carving out a piece of the US for muslims to do as they chose - the base will echo with prayer calls all day long. While Hegseth says no more DEI, this stupid, idiotic move certainly smacks of it big time, over the top DEI.

We are NOT building a Qatari military base in Idaho. We’re going to train their pilots. Period. We’ve been doing it for decades. I went to USAF pilot training and we had Saudis and Iranians flying with us

Big difference between training allied (ostensibly) fighter pilots and flying large commercial jets. Jus'
 sayin'. And we have worked with air forces worldwide we expect to be flying with in the event of hostilities.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that Qatar would build an Air Force base in Idaho.

The Trump administration’s approval of a Qatari air force base in Idaho isn’t popular with either of America’s political parties.

Department of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced the forthcoming Qatari Emiri Air Force facility in America’s heartland Friday morning, thanking the Middle Eastern nation for playing a “core part” in negotiating the ceasefire between Israel and Palestine. Mountain Home Air Force Base will host Qatari F-15 fighter jets and pilots, and allow Qatari forces alongside American troops for F-15 pilot training.

The move, which stands in stark contrast to the president’s “America first” agenda, seriously rattled some of Donald Trump’s most outspoken supporters.

“Never thought I’d see Republicans give terror financing Muslims from Qatar a MILITARY BASE on US soil so they can murder Americans,” posted far-right influencer Laura Loomer, who has operated as Trump’s informal “loyalty enforcer” since August. “I don’t think I’ll be voting in 2026. I cannot in good conscience make any excuses for the harboring of jihadis.”

“This is where I draw the line,” she wrote.

Other conservatives were left bewildered by the seemingly nonsensical decision.

“What’s the strategic rationale for this? Either ours or Qatar’s?” posted the National Review’s Noah Rothman. “You could rattle off all the problems/risks we’re inviting easily. But I have no idea what the steelman case for this would be? I’m sure we don’t need to import any more Qatari covert assets into this country.”

A Friday announcement by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth about a new training arrangement with Qatar’s Air Force has sparked a backlash from President Trump’s supporters, prompting him to issue a clarification later in the day.

During a visit by Qatar’s defense minister, Hegseth announced a new facility that would be built at the Mountain Home Air Force Base in Elmore County, Idaho, to host and train Qatari pilots on U.S.-made F-15s.
 
The U.S. is building a “Qatari Emiri Air Force facility,” Hegseth said, “to enhance our combined training, increase the lethality and interoperability.”

Qatar, a Persian Gulf nation with little airspace of its own, has long cultivated ties with the U.S. military. Its Al Udeid Air Base serves as a platform for American warplanes in the Middle East and hosts the U.S.’s air war command center for the region. Qatar also served as an important hub when the U.S. pulled out of Afghanistan.

The new facility, U.S. Air Force officials said, would include hangars for the F-15QA, the Qatari version of the jet it purchased through foreign military sales.

Parts of the plan to host Qatari pilots and support personnel came from the BIDEN administration. It was greenlighted in 2022. So everybody needs to cool their jets.

Look folks this isn't nothing new. I'm not sure why everyone has their panties in a twist.

Especially on the Conservative side of the aisle.

We also have facilities at Mountain Home AFB to train Singaporean AF pilots on the F-15 and F-35. They've be in there for years.

We train NATO pilots at Sheppard AFB in Texas. Hell we have foreign nationals that train in most of our military schools. Including the one I went to.

We had the German Air Defense Artillery School at Ft Bliss Texas for almost 70 years.

There isn't going to be a base on US soil controlled by a foreign country.

People just need to calm TF down and stop knee jerk reacting.
