Pope Leo XIV has delivered a stark condemnation of the wealthy elite, accusing them of living in a "bubble of comfort and luxury" while the poor suffer on the margins. His first teaching document, released Thursday, confirms his perfect alignment with predecessor Pope Francis on social and economic injustice.
 
The Vatican unveiled the 100-page document, "I have loved you," which Pope Francis had begun writing in his final months but never finished. Pope Leo, elected in May, credited Pope Francis with the text, citing him repeatedly, but made it his own and signed it.

The text traces Christianity’s constant concern for the poor, from Biblical citations and church fathers to recent popes’ teachings on migrants, prisoners, and human trafficking victims. Leo praised women’s religious orders for carrying out God’s mandate to care for the sick, feed the poor, and welcome strangers, and lauded lay-led movements advocating for land, housing, and work for the disadvantaged.

From what I can tell, the Pope doesn't exactly live in a slum.  He doesn't fly coach; he has his own plane which is more than most "elites."  He doesn't cruise Rome in a ghetto sled.  When he travels, he doesn't spend the night in Rotten Rodney's flop house.  He has his own chef, so he eats better than most of those elites.  He probably has special toilet paper to wipe his holy *ss with.  He also doesn't welcome illegal immigrants to the Vatican.:whistle:

Um, like the Vatican? I once had a look at how impoverished priests lived, at a small church out in the desert, and they seemed to have a pretty decent life with all the amenities including a fridge stocked with beer, some soda also to mix with the liquor and wine if they didn’t take it straight. The point is that someone who has lived a well maintained lifestyle as the servant of the Lord shouldn’t oughta be throwing stones.

I was raised in the Catholic church.  I have huge problems with the folks in the hierarchy of the church, so I no longer belong.

The folks in the hierarchy have spent hundreds of millions, maybe billions protecting sexual child protectors in the ranks of their parish priests.  My view, these men, and all who sexually assault children 12 and under should be lined up and shot.

This pope was part of that hierarchy of evil men protecting these evil sons of Satan abusing children.

I thought being an American born person, he would be different.  He isn't.  A man that lives in such luxury everything he touches is covered in gold.  Almost literally.  Sorry, nothing this man has to say has value or meaning to me.

How many jobs do these ‘wealthy elites’ create and people they employ compared to the Catholic Church whose greatest job creations are of law firms and employment of lawyers.
