ICE Issues Warning Amid Increased Threats
 
Amid a rise in reports of assaults on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, the agency has emphasized that such actions are considered a federal crime and will lead to felony charges. ICE noted that federal charges will be pressed regardless of immigration status. The agency issued warnings regarding the offenses, which has drawn criticism from advocates who argue it discourages lawful protests.
 
Civil rights groups have spoken out, claiming that the broad way “resistance” has been defined could make people afraid to speak up, chilling free expression.

ICE stated, “WARNING: Assaulting an ICE officer is a serious federal crime!” ICE added, “Assaulting a federal officer may cost you your freedom.” The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has reported a significant rise in threats and injuries to personnel.

They can just use rent-a-protestors who will be free to speak up against enforcing the law. :thud:
