Fort Gordon Soldier Arrested After CyberTipline Report; Alleged Crimes Believed to Have Occurred In Florida
An active-duty Army Captain stationed at Fort Gordon in Georgia is facing more than 40 felony charges in Walton County, Florida, including multiple counts of sexual battery on a child, manufacturing child pornography, and possession of child pornography.
Sean Benjamin Cushman, 30, was initially arrested on July 15th in South Carolina on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor following a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
The case expanded to Florida after the Walton County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Aiken County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina on August 25th. Detectives executing a search warrant at Cushman’s home in Aiken reportedly located images and videos on his phone depicting child pornography involving a victim under the age of 18, which investigators believed were recorded in Walton County.
Walton County Sheriff’s Office investigators confirmed that more than 15 videos and photos of the victim were recorded and taken in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
