Blaze Media by Joseph M. Hanneman & Steve Baker 9/25/2025

Disclosure by the FBI to Congress answers a long-simmering question but does not reveal what the agents did that day.

The FBI has acknowledged it had 275 plainclothes agents in the massive crowds on Jan. 6, 2021, more than four and a half years after questions were first raised about the level of FBI involvement that day, Blaze News has learned.

A senior congressional source said the number is not necessarily a surprise, since the FBI often embeds countersurveillance personnel at large events.

But given the FBI’s until-now steadfast refusal to disclose the level of its presence at the Capitol, the figure might still be viewed with skepticism in some quarters.

The news comes in the wake of claims by the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Inspector General that the FBI had no undercover personnel in the Jan. 6 crowds.

“We found no evidence in the materials we reviewed or the testimony we received showing or suggesting that the FBI had undercover employees in the various protest crowds, or at the Capitol, on January 6,” the DOJ OIG said in an 88-page report released in December 2024.

Depending how one reads “undercover” agents versus “plainclothes agents,” both statements could be true.

Not just who, but who did they lie to? Some instances of that are chargeable offenses, lying to the people is a pass.

I have a feeling these particular agents' actions went far beyond mere surveillance, though.

FBI Bombshell: 274 agents sent to Capitol for J6, many later complained they were political ‘pawns’

Hidden for four years, an after-action report on FBI's involvement in Jan. 6 riot found by Director Patel shows dozens of agents feared that the FBI had become "woke" and "liberally biased."

The FBI secretly deployed more than 250 plainclothes agents to the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021 riot, an operation so disorganized it unleashed searing frustrations among many of the FBI's rank-and-file that the bureau had lost its core competencies to "wokeness" and allowed its employees to become “pawns in a political war,” according to an after-action report kept from the public for more than four years. ...

I'm sure some Fed confidential informants were involved.  They could have been incented by their handlers to raise hell.

FBI Had 274 Agents at Capitol on January 6th, and Many Complained That They Were 'Political Pawns'

After years of FBI Directors dissembling before Congress and refusing to acknowledge that they had agents at the Capitol on January 6th, Kash Patel released bombshell documents not only revealing the number of agents but also reporting that, in after-action reports, many of them were quite angry that they had been set up to be pawns in a political game to destroy conservatives.

(snip)

They complained bitterly about the Washington Field Office's politicization and the prosecutors who chose to prosecute or not based on their woke, liberal politics.

Scores of FBI agents and personnel – many from the bureau’s premier Washington field office (WFO) – sent anonymous complaints to the after-action team detailing how agents were sent into an unsafe scenario without proper safety equipment or the ability to identify themselves readily as armed officers to other police agencies, the report obtained by Just the News shows.

The most persistent complaint was that the bureau during the James Comey and Chris Wray era had become infected with political biases and liberal ideology that treated the protesters from the summer 2020 Black Lives Matter riots far differently than those arrested in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 episode.

“The FBI should make clear to its personnel and the public that, despite its obvious political bias, it ultimately still takes its mission and priorities seriously,” one employee wrote in a stinging review. “It should equally and aggressively investigate criminal activity regardless of the offenders' perceived race, political affiliations, or motivations; and it should equally and aggressively protect all Americans regardless of perceived race, political affiliations, or motivations.”

That agent urged FBI leaders “to identify viable exit options for FBI personnel who no longer feel it is legally or morally acceptable to support a federal law enforcement and intelligence agency motivated by political bias.”

EXCERPTS

Grassley and Comer need to haul both Garland and Wray before their committees and roast them live on TV.

Here's a link to the actual After Action report that Patel found and released.  It's damning.

FBI agents felt like ‘pawns in a political war’ during Jan. 6 response, internal report shows
By Kaelan Deese
September 26, 2025 2:49 pm

More than 250 FBI agents deployed in plainclothes to the United States Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot were left without proper safety equipment, clear instructions, or identifiable markings, a disorganized response that prompted a wave of internal complaints accusing FBI leadership of politicization and double standards, according to a newly released after-action report.

The document, reviewed by the House Judiciary Committee and obtained by Just the News on Thursday, includes more than 50 pages of feedback from FBI personnel, many assigned to the Washington Field Office, who described their deployment that day as chaotic and politically compromised. Several agents said they felt the bureau had become “infected” by partisan ideology and criticized FBI leaders for treating the Jan. 6 rioters differently than protesters from the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests and riots.

“We have been used as pawns in a political war, and FBI leadership fell into the trap and has allowed it to happen,” one employee wrote. “We are supposed to call balls and strikes, regardless of political pressure. Now we can’t even be trusted to be on the field.”

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Considering the behaviour of Ray Epps prior to and on J6 as seen on video, I have smelled a rat from day one.

Still, who was the 'bomber' who left the devices outside the Party headquarters' in DC? That seems to be one of the least pursued of all offenses that day, which implies the devices were of questionable viability and that the 'bomber' was known to authorities at some level--all part of the smoke and mirrors of the prosecution, used to set the tone of the process.

Another note: Never, before J6, did I see a fire extinguisher used to harm or disable anyone in movies and other 'entertainment'. Since then, the ubiquitous and well displayed fire extinguisher seems to be a weapon of choice in such 'action' shows.
Has this been done to support the fable that Officer Sicknick was harmed by one when he was not?
Many of the machinations of propaganda are such, subtle displacements of belief used to support a narrative. Had someone been allegedly attacked with a spoon, no doubt we'd see spoons used as weapons pervasively in entertainment action fiction.

Possibly, depending on whether or not there are records or testimony that shows they went beyond merely keeping tabs.

Trump Demands Answers After Bombshell J6 Report Contradicts Ex-FBI Director Wray’s Testimony

Published 4 hours ago

on September 27, 2025

By Cullen McCue

President Donald Trump is demanding answers and accountability following a bombshell report from The Blaze, which revealed that the FBI had well over 200 plainclothes agents embedded in the crowd.

The FBI had privately admitted to the presence of the plainclothes officers despite a Justice Department Inspector General report denying that they were there, according to a report from Blaze reporter Steve Baker. “We found no evidence in the materials we reviewed or the testimony we received showing or suggesting that the FBI had undercover employees in the various protest crowds, or at the Capitol, on January 6,” the DOJ OIG said in an 88-page report released in December 2024.

The same report revealed that 26 FBI confidential human sources were in the Jan. 6 crowds, four of whom entered the Capitol Building.

“It was just revealed that the FBI had secretly placed, against all Rules, Regulations, Protocols, and Standards, 274 FBI Agents into the Crowd just prior to, and during, the January 6th Hoax,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Saturday.

“This is different from what Director Christopher Wray stated, over and over again!” he went on. “I want to know who each and every one of these so-called ‘Agents’ are, and what they were up to on that now ‘Historic’ Day,” the president went on. “Christopher Wray, the then Director of the FBI, has some major explaining to do. That’s two in a row, Comey and Wray.”

Kash Patel Clarifies Why There Were Hundreds of FBI Agents on the Hill on January 6
Matt Vespa

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has been cagey regarding its activities on January 6. The allegation that undercover operatives were embedded in the crowd during the riot isn’t tin foil hat material—the bureau admitted it. The inspector general tried to deny it, but there was no spinning this. The FBI had agents on the ground, some of whom entered the Capitol Building. Now, we’ve learned that there were hundreds of agents on the ground this week, around 275. FBI Director Kash Patel had to clarify what the FBI was doing over the weekend, and former FBI Director Chris Wray might be hauled before Congress again. Mr. Patel said that agents were dispatched for crowd control (via Fox News):

The FBI responded on Saturday to a report that 274 plainclothes agents were at the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, clarifying the role of bureau personnel while still blasting former Director Christopher Wray.

While the agents were on hand, they were sent in after the riot had begun to try to control the unruly crowd, officials told Fox News Digital. That is not the proper role of FBI agents, and Wray was not forthcoming about what happened when he testified numerous times on Capitol Hill, Director Kash Patel said.

"Agents were sent into a crowd control mission after the riot was declared by Metro Police – something that goes against FBI standards," Patel told Fox News Digital. "This was the failure of a corrupt leadership that lied to Congress and to the American people about what really happened."

He added, "Thanks to agents coming forward, we are now uncovering the truth. We are fully committed to transparency, and justice and accountability continues with this FBI."

    […]

Wray told a House Committee on Nov. 15, 2023, "If you are asking if the violence at the Capitol was part of some operation orchestrated by FBI sources or agents, the answer is no," but he wouldn’t disclose if any agents or sources were embedded within the crowd.

So, did Wray lie to Congress? It might be time to ask him some more questions.

Pure weasel words, now in bold face.

It reminds me of the Flight 800 investigation, hijacked from the NTSB, replete with other irregularities. Despite over 100 witnesses who saw 'a light' go up before the plane came down, some of whom compared it to a missile tracking on the aircraft, the FBI managed, in the course of interviewing witnesses to NOT talk with any of them.

One of the problems with solving problems, is that the evidence not looked at will affect the conclusions--and it is apparently very easy to ignore evidence if you aren't a stickler for being thorough.

The rot goes right to the top

JoNova 9/28/2025

In terms of The Blob, the deepest darkest forces of power, the ones that scare even The Bankers, are surely the spies with guns, especially if they are unaccountable, politically biased spies with guns.

For four years since the January 6 Capitol Hill riots, the FBI has refused to say how many agents it had in the crowd, even to Congress, or even to the US President. Now we find, after the denials, there were 274 plain clothes agents there on the day.  Donald Trump says “Wow: A radical Left Democrat Scam.”

It puts a whole new meaning to the term “insurrection”. Hundreds of paid agents, armed, and pretending to be protesting the same government that paid them to be there?

Let’s not forget that the main outcome of the Capitol Hill riots was to draw attention away from a critical Senate debates about irregularities with the 2020 election. (Many Republican senators who has promised to object to the certification of Joe Biden withdrew their objections after the riot). It would also be a useful (if awful) tool to imprison nearly 1,000 protestors and thus terrorize and deter people on one side of politics from protesting.

And then there were people who yelled and incited others like Ray Epps, — “We need to go IN to the Capitol” — were never arrested, and never jailed. And we still don’t know why.
