Multiple people 'critically wounded' after 'sniper' opens fire at Dallas ICE facility then commits suicide

Three people were injured at an ICE facility in Dallas before a suspected sniper was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on a nearby rooftop.

The situation unfolded at the Texas facility around 7am on Wednesday morning, with police sources telling WFAA that they are also investigating the possibility of multiple shooters. 

Shortly after multiple people were wounded in the shooting, a suspected gunman was found dead on the roof of a nearby immigration attorney's office.

ICE Director Todd Lyons confirmed that the shooter is 'down', but did not elaborate on how the suspected gunman died. 

The status of all those injured in the shooting is not yet clear, however reports say that some were left in critical condition. 

Images showed a large police presence descended on the scene. 

This is a developing story and will be updated as information is confirmed.

What we know:

According to police sources, the suspect was a sniper on a roof armed with a rifle. The shooter, identified by police as a white man, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head as agents approached.

The three victims were detainees in ICE custody. One of the victims was confirmed dead, and police say three or four others were shot.

Dozens of police units and multiple ambulances were seen near the facility off I-35E near Empire Central.

The investigation is ongoing.

What we don't know:

The total number of victims is currently unclear.

It is unknown whether the suspect was on the roof of the ICE building or a building nearby.

A sniper killed at least one migrant and wounded several others in a shooting at a Dallas Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility, then shot himself dead, police say.

In 2019, an Antifa gunman wanted to destroy an ICE facility in Tacoma, Wash. and he didn’t care who would be shot or blown up inside when he carried out his attack. Willem van Spronsen, an Antifa member in the John Brown Gun Club militia, came with a rifle and explosives. He had been radicalized by the anti-ICE propaganda on media. He tried to blow up the huge propane tank attached to the building. He died in the course of the attack.

Before the shooting, he sent out a manifesto to his comrades. It referenced Bella Ciao, the same Antifa song Tyler Robinson allegedly referenced on a rifle cartridge in the Charlie Kirk assassination. The sniper who killed two migrants and wounded a third in a horror shooting at a Dallas Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility has been pictured for the first time.

Joshua Jahn, 29, was named as the gunman who opened fire on the ICE detention center around 7am Wednesday morning, before killing himself as cops descended on him.

Law enforcement said that the sniper perched on a roof adjacent to the facility and rained bullets on the migrants as they were being transported in an unmarked ICE van.

Investigators said that they are still establishing a motive, but believe the shooting may have been fueled by anti-law enforcement sentiment.

FBI Director Kash Patel released images of bullets found at the scene, showing 'anti-ICE' scrawled on the shells in blue ink.

After Jahn was identified as the alleged shooter, his brother Noah told NBC News that he did not believe his brother was especially interested in politics and had not voiced his opinions on immigration before.

'He didn’t have strong feelings about ICE as far as I knew,' his brother said.

Noah said his brother was unemployed but had previously worked as a coder, and was planning on moving in with their parents in Oklahoma.

The Dallas ICE shooter, who was confirmed exclusively by the Daily Mail as Joshua Jahn, had a disturbing poster taped to the side of his car at the time of the field office attack.

The poster showed a map of 'radioactive fallout' from 'nuclear detonations' across the United States, with most of the blasts depicted on the West Coast.

Jahn's brother Noah told NBC news Joshua was unemployed at the time of the shooting and was planning to move into his parent's property in Oklahoma.

Noah claimed that his brother 'didn't have strong feelings about ICE' and never thought he would've been involved in a politically motivated shooting.

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, but an initial review of the evidence shows an 'ideological motive behind this attack.' A bullet casing recovered at the scene was engraved with the phrase 'anti-ICE.'

On Wednesday, Texas Senator Ted Cruz condemned the attack, stressing that 'politically motivated violence is wrong' and adding, 'political opponents are not Nazis. We need to work together without demonizing and attacking each other.'

At least four people were injured and two shot dead at the Texas ICE facility around 6.40am before a suspected sniper was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on a nearby rooftop.

The News Channels keep saying that slogans were etched into the bullets. This has always confused me because the shell casing is an important part of the round. "Etching" into it may be dangerous. You could accidentally discharge the round, or it could possibly weaken the casing so that the bullet will explode when fired.



These are rounds with writing on them. Nothing is 'etched'. You would think that reporters would understand the importance of words, but apparently not.

Well, that's five rounds in a 'stripper clip', commonly used to re-load a bolt-action rifle.
It'd be tedious to try to load a 20 round magazine using those (though it can be done), and reports were that 20 shots were fired in rapid succession. With a bolt action rifle, shooting and reloading every 5 rounds, that would indicate some level of proficiency with the firearm, something the apparent inaccuracy of the shooting does not seem to confirm. Was this the actual shooter, and did they kill themselves? Or is this a(nother) highly motivated patsy?

This week featured yet another violent attack on Immigration and Customs Enforcement. On Wednesday morning, three detainees of ICE were shot in an attack that appears to have targeted Dallas-based ICE agents. One of the detainees died, and the others are in critical condition. The suspect, identified as Joshua Jahn, was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Law enforcement relayed that, like the alleged killer of Charlie Kirk, the shooter in Dallas inscribed political messages on the bullets or their casings. The messages were “anti-ICE” in nature.
 
This has to stop. It’s part of a very disturbing trend.

In July, eleven left-wing agitators ambushed an ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas, opening fire on agents and shooting one in the neck. In Portland, Ore., an incendiary device was thrown at officers. That same month, another attacker in McAllen, Texas, shot two police officers and a Border Patrol employee, sending them to the hospital. An ICE facility in Washington suffered an arson attack. The left has tried to popularize a push to unmask and dox ICE agents.

This anti-ICE movement has been implicitly cheered on by elected Democrats who adopted a party line of invoking fascism when talking about immigration enforcement. “Donald Trump’s modern-day Gestapo is scooping folks up off the streets,” said Tim Walz at a May commencement address. “When you compare the old films of the Gestapo grabbing people off the streets of Poland,” opined Congressman Stephen Lynch, “and you compare them to those nondescript thugs who grabbed that graduate student, it does look like a Gestapo operation.” Other commentators have called ICE Trump’s Praetorian Guard.
