Fresh humiliation for Starmer as Labour falls into third place after new year relaunch flounders

Keir Starmer’s hopes of a 2026 fightback have suffered a fresh blow as a second poll in as many days has put Labour in third place.

The More in Common poll saw support for Nigel Farage’s Reform surge by three points to 31 per cent, ahead of the Tories on 23 per cent, with Labour down two on just 19 per cent.

It followed a YouGov poll that put Labour in third place on a mere 17 per cent, only marginally ahead of the Liberal Democrats on 16 per cent and the Green Party on 15 per cent.

Further details of the YouGov poll also revealed that net approval of the government’s handling of cost of living issues has reached lowest level since tracking began in October 2022. This is despite Sir Keir relying on tackling cost of living as the centrepiece of his party’s fightback in the polls.  .  .  .

On most days the British monarch doesn't wield much power. All the same the military and police answer to the monarch during a crisis.

In the 1960's there was an attempted coup in the UK and HRH Queen Elizabeth II intervened and helped put it down. Because in a pinch people in the UK...for now...will follow their sovereign.

I think it is at (or perhaps has surpassed) the point where they use their power (one of opinion and as spokespersons for the UK, molders of public sentiment and the ability to rally the populace) or lose it.

Emma Thompson, forever the moral matron of the luvvie class, too busy basking in applause to read the record. Stephen Fry, who will condemn intolerance at home but clasp the hand of a man who wanted Zionists dead. Mike Leigh. Mark Ruffalo. Emily Watson. Rebecca Hall. Joseph Fiennes. Harriet Walter. Sir Bill Nighy, beard grown for gravitas, telling the Prime Minister to "make the call" – and the Prime Minister did. They summoned a man who would happily see the country that knighted them burn.

    This wasn't a mistake. It was a ritual. The ruling class performed virtue, the celebrities performed conscience, and Britain paid the bill. They needed him to fit a story: the "political prisoner," the "prisoner of conscience," the symbol of everything they think makes Britain look enlightened. They didn't check who he was because the truth would have broken the spell. Violence abroad is romantic in their eyes. Violence at home is a misunderstanding. Hatred is fine, as long as it is directed at the right targets.

    The ECHR forced the door open. Successive governments refused to close it. Its architects still pretend it's the noble post-war shield it once was, even as foreign judges veto laws passed by the people who live with the fallout. A serious country would have walked the moment protecting its own became "unlawful." A serious country would say: glorify terror and you lose your passport; call for blood and you're gone. But Britain isn't serious. Britain is obedient – to treaties, to NGOs, to foreign approval, to the moral vanity of its own elite.

    What we are watching is national self-harm dressed as progress. A country apologising for existing. A cultural class so besotted with its own virtue it can't tell a dissident from a fanatic. They think they are rescuing a hero. They are opening the gates. They think they are proving virtue. They are advertising weakness.

The full embrace of communism by the Democrat Party this year is a watershed moment.  We no longer have a true two party system.  We have one party wanting to dominate the USA exclusively by any means possible, even if it means allowing a million felons from other countries into our nation.  The other party is completely reticent to do anything.  The Republicans should be called the Do Nothing Party, because they are very good at it.

Again, we are here in mid January, in a fiscal year that started October 1, LAST YEAR.  There is no excuse for the Congress not to have a budget agreed upon by Setember 1, one month prior to the start of the new fiscal year.  The time has come to force them to get it done, or all of them face re-election.

The Congress is literally nonfunctional by choice.  They are NOT doing their job.  And their total failure to take action to protect the DOLLAR will ultimately bring this nation down one day.  The endless printing of money must end the way it is being conducted today.

President Trump is largely working alone when five senators go to the side of the stinking Democommies.  All five should seriously be primaried with their next election!
