ABC Announces Final Decision On Fate Of Jimmy Kimmel’s Show

ABC made an abrupt reversal on Monday, stating that its decision to “indefinitely” cancel Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show will not be the last word.

Kimmel was pulled off the air on Wednesday after an opening monologue the previous night where he ripped President Donald Trump and MAGA conservatives for trying to “score political points” by attacking politicians and media figures who criticized Charlie Kirk after his assassination.

A fateful conversation between executives at ABC and its parent company, Disney, has brought the winds of change to Kimmel, however.

“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive,” Disney said in a statement.

“We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”

When “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” returns, the host is expected to address his absence at the top of the hour, according to a source who spoke with CNBC.

Agreed. People will tune in to hear what they think will be a sincere apology and go to their regular scheduled programming.

Since his show has pretty low ratings, the only reason I can come up with for this move is people were cancelling Disney + and other paid services.

If he still won't apologize for lying, the stations won't air it after Tuesday.  But we'll have to see.  It's up to Kimmel.  It won't matter in the long run if he continues down the political path, and the audience numbers keep dropping.  He'll still go down the Colbert road to extinction.

I knew ABC/Disney would fold...what about Nexstar?

The FCC Chairman should have kept his damn mouth shut this was a business decision not a political one...he gave the impression that the Trump admin was involved.

Kimmel will be back to his old tricks...why not, there is no repercussions for anything he says.

I already NEVER watch ABC.  And I would not go to a Disney property if you paid me.  Disney is a whore of an organization.

However, I suggest if you want to get Disney's attention, you and everyone you know boycott Disney.  Also, become knowledgeable about what movie production companies they own and boycott their movies.  It is only with shutting off the tap of money that degenerate organizations like Disney get the message.

And Warren Buffett owns Disney, so I say boycott all companies that he owns.  Buffett was the puppetmaster of Obama, who benefited in a huge way when Obama shut the pipeline down.  Buffett owns the railroads that presently transport the oil from Canada to the refineries in the south.

The Kirk memorial aired.  It was beautiful. It was impressive.  It was meaningful as approximately  100,000 conservative warriors showed up and from my understanding it was watched around the globe.

Turning Point desperately needs to continue especially to reach young conservatives on campus and to hopefully reach indoctrinated students...in my opinion that was one of Kirk's most successful missions.

If they want to bring Kimmel back  now so be it.  It will only be a matter of time before the show tanks again.

This could end up as a civil legal action between ABC/Disney's lawyers and the Affiliates' lawyers.

Are the affiliates contractually obliged to air ABC programming?

Sinclair ABC stations won’t air ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ despite return to network

Sinclair Broadcast Group revealed that it won’t air “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on its ABC affiliate stations –despite Disney’s decision to bring back the late-night talk show beginning Tuesday.

Disney managed to piss off both sides, in addition to angering the two largest owners of ABC TeeVee stations.  Sinclair has already said they are pre-empting Kimmel, and I expect Nexstar to do the same.  All Disney has done here is reset the board to where it was after Kimmel lied about the motive of the kid that assassination Charlie Kirk.

Jimmy Kimmel is Chernobyl toxic.  His career is over, even if ABC does bring him back.  His numbers were sliding before the Kirk assassination, he will continue to slide.

I would suspect ABC is scrambling right now to try and find someone to replace him.  ABC once had a relationship with Tim Allen.  I think he would make a great Johnny Carson like host.  He has a great sense of humor, and he is extremely entertaining.  Yes, I know he has another sitcom in the making, but he could do both. 

Kimmel on the other hand is not funny.  Not even a little bit with his styck of political insult toward conservative politicians.

Since Trump has created the MAGA movement, I would think he could sue Kimmel and ABC for $1 billion.  I am so tired of the defamation by supposed liberal hack comedians.  Bill Maher has NOT made me laugh in 10+ years.  His political comedy just is not funny.  I honestly do not understand why HBO keeps this boring turd in their programming.  His guests are mediocre half the time.

Funny thing about that...If they want ratings, put shows on people will want to watch.
Something actually funny and entertaining would be novel in that slot (at least from the broadcast networks ABC, NBC, CBS...)

Leftist hate fests and snark aren't exactly getting viewers to beat a path to the door.

But the question is what/who is funding the network? Is it ad revenue, or is the big money behind the scenes somewhere, pushing an agenda?
