Trump says autism announcement coming on Monday

by Ashleigh Fields   09/20/25 10:04 PM ET

President Trump said his administration will make an autism announcement on Monday following a Wall Street Journal report that suggested officials would release information linking Tylenol to the condition in children.

“We’re going to have an announcement on autism on Monday,” Trump said during remarks from Mt. Vernon, the historic home of President George Washington for the American Cornerstone Institute.

“I think it’s gonna be a very important announcement. I think its gonna be one of the most important things that we will do,” he added.

Trump did not offer any further details about what woudl be announced.

Trump also said at the event that he would be presenting former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson with the presidential medal of freedom award next week.

Trump, Carson and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have publicly made statements linking autism to vaccines and other medicines despite a lack of research to support their claims.

Trump to Host Major Press Conference Monday on Autism

Nick Gilbertson 21 Sep 2025

President Donald Trump announced Sunday he would be holding a major press conference on Autism on Monday, noting, “I think we found an answer.”

Trump hinted at Monday’s press conference, which will feature Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Mehmet Oz, while speaking at Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk’s tribute service in Glendale, Arizona.

Whatever it is, CBS is ready to debunk it.

If it's genetics, why is it a zillion times more prevalent now than 75 years ago?

Although I think some maybe autistic...I have come to the belief that it often  is a convenient diagnosis. My niece was recently diagnosed as being "on the spectrum". This was due to her total melt downs...when she doesn't get her way. Take that for what you will.

At one time expectant mothers were instructed to not take any drugs, even OTC. Of course at one time moms continued smoking/drinking while pregnant. So I don't know the answer.

Was autism and pertinent diagnostic processes defined, with full practitioner awareness, 75 years ago?
I am not and never have been a leftist.

If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

Tylenol Use in Pregnancy Linked to 3x Higher Autism and ADHD Risk

A Johns Hopkins study of umbilical cord blood found that babies with the highest acetaminophen exposure were three times more likely to be diagnosed with autism or ADHD.

This wasn’t fringe science—it came from one of the most respected medical institutions in the world. ...

But for SSI/SSDI, there would be a heck of a lot few autism diagnoses.

And this:

JG
@JonGraySwag
The complex answer to “why do we see more people with autism today than when i was young” is almost certainly multifactorial but the part conservatives (more “my side”) cannot comprehend is significant changes in diagnosis criteria. So much easier to diagnose than 20 years ago.

I have seen some of those videos. I feel sorry for the kids they’re about to birth.

Would they point a gun at their head and pull the trigger because Trump told them that doing such was bad? Really stupid because too much Tylenol is hard on the liver. That, has been proven.

But they sure are showing him, aren’t they? Idiots.

I, as the parent of an autistic son, have been asked if I believe there’s a link between acetaminophen and autism, and I’m skeptical of that claim.

But if I was a pregnant woman, I wouldn’t abuse Tylenol as an act of defiance.

Exactly. Why risk it? Why put anything in your body that isn't absolutely necessary, when you have no idea what it may do to the baby.

Would those who conform to the party that rabidly backs abortion really give a damn about their children? Their politics, their conformity to the groupthink, is far more important than the well being of their children.

Insanity.

But, maybe with enough documentation, they will provide data to confirm the suspicions that acetaminophen does contribute to autism.

And maybe, out of this, they will learn a lot more about love.

Yes. It's almost shocking to see there are a few leftist women intending to carry their pregnancies to term (no matter how much they harm their babies in utero or after their births).

Holy crap. I saw on X that one of the pregnant libs proudly pouring Tylenol down her gullet is an actual M.D. Once again, TDS and politics over science.

Too much Tylenol in pregnancy could affect development
Reuters,  Nov 22, 2013

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Expectant mothers often take Tylenol, with the active ingredient acetaminophen, to deal with back pain, headaches or mild fevers during pregnancy. But frequent use may be linked to poorer language skills and behavior problems among their children, according to a new study.

[...]

"Some people just pop Tylenol when they have a headache," Dr. Martha Herbert, an autism researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, said. The developmental problems seen in this study align with symptoms of autism spectrum disorder, though the children had not been diagnosed at age three. Herbert has been studying the possible link between acetaminophen and the disorder for several years. "I don't think it's a done deal," she told Reuters Health. She doesn't like to pin "the cause of autism" on any one thing, as many factors are likely involved.

"But for those people who wish to take precautions, this is something they can do," Herbert said, referring to pregnant women cutting down on Tylenol use or choosing ibuprofen instead.

A doctor of all people should know better

In fact, if we try to give patients more than 4000 mg and a 24 hour period, the scanner won’t even let you scan the medication

You make a valid point. Is it that there is better healthcare, or is the condition being overdiagnosed (or maybe a combination)?
